Why not? If anything I see it doing what Yamato 2199 did, since this for all intents and purposes Yamato 2199 but with MSG. Be about 26 total 'episodes', divided into 6 or 7 movies; first premeired in Theaters, then released on Blu-Ray, then its aired on TV.

^You don’t have to put it on spoiler. Everybody knows that Origin is a remake of MSG.
And what do you mean by Origin will use the the same 3D graphic engine as Unicorn? If you mean that they’ll use the 3D CG for some Mobile Suits in static shots, then it’s possible. But I don’t think they will use a lot since 2D mecha animation is still Gundam franchise’s trademarks (except for all-CG project like MS Igloo). And Sunrise running out of ideas is clear-as-day when they made that abominable AGE.

Well, I did say “running out” which means when the made AGE it hasn’t ran out yet. With Gundam Build Fighters as the new series, it’s clear to me that they pretty much ran out of ideas (for now) to make another original series. Their other projects (Unicorn & Origins) are both from pre-existing materials (novels & manga) .

I hope you're right I also hope that they take some of the animation styles from Gundam Unicorn as well. This is the perfect way to introduce relatively new Gundam fans (like myself) into the Universal Century. Insofar, I haven't been able to get the original Mobile Suit Gundam and depended largely on reading materials, so this will be a spectacular chance to watch things (even if it does deviate from the original).

Also, we now have a release date (sort of): 2014-2015. Still have no idea what the format of the anime is going to be.. Interestingly enough, G-Reco also has the same release date, so I think only one of the two will be a full ±50 episode anime and the other one will probably be an OVA of some sort..
