This is probably my most awaited Switch RPG aside from Shin Megami Tensei's next installment.

I was going to download the demo but then my Switch decided to go and refuse to charge. Hopefully I can get if fixed (or forced to buy a new one...).

Don't worry, you'll have the time to play the demo before the game comes out.

It's my most-awaited game as well and the demo is brilliant. It's so rare these days to have RPGs that get straight to the point and don't waste the first 10 hours on "immersion" and "world building" and endless cutscenes.

I tested the demo and liked it but the 8 characters thing worry me. I really don’t like any kind of episodic story telling. Is it like 8 mini story’s that come together at some point ? I think I wouldn’t like that at all

It's too soon to tell but most games of this kind end up like that, yes. One Big Bad will turn out to be behind everything and they'll all unite to face it.

Two more operators introduced, along with confirmation of 'dual-classing' (see: Titan Quest, Grim Dawn, et cetera). And yes, the numbers above are significant.

Yes, that would be the 'preview version'; I understand that packaged with the Wayfarer's Edition pictured above will be something called 'Octopath Traveler Sound Selections'... and if they have any sense, a proper OST release will not be long behind.

1. Switch to JP text
2. Switch to JP voice
in the localized version. (Cheaper to get the localized version than to import the JP version)

JP voice was available during the demo. I don't remember if JP text was.

If you used a JP account to play, it would switch completely to the JP version, if I remember correctly. The only problem is if this is the same for the package version.

I still have the demo installed, so I just checked again.

The NA version has voice options, but no text options.
