Talentless Nana

Quote:
It is the year 20XX. Earth has been assaulted by monsters known as 'the Enemy of Humanity'. In order to deal with this threat, special schools comprised of teenagers with extraordinary abilities were formed. These people, who came to be known as 'the Talented', have abilities that defy the rules of reality. Among these superpowered individuals was an outlier, someone who was sent to one of these schools despite having no innate special abilities whatsoever. This is the story of our protagonist, who attempts to defeat the Enemies of Humanity through the use of intelligence and manipulation alone.
Don't be fooled by that cover at end of chapter 1 you will see this manga real face.
Basically the MC is a black widow.

I'm interested in manga outside of shoujo genre that have girl as protagonist, cuz harem boys are really boring these days.

Spoiler for And:

Black Widow to be precise, she seduce a man and kill him off to cliff.
Now this making sense why the male casts is greater than female ones, this is reverse-harem style. The MC will date/get closer/seduce each boys and assassinate each of them
But she should be creative again if she repeat this pattern to another boys just mater of time her identity will be blown out.

Man, I gotta say the last page of ch.8 was awesome with the whole scene shown in real and on prophetic photo at the same time. Can't wait for the next chapter to see how she gets out of that situation. Really hope she kills dog girl last, she's cute and lovely. She still has yet to kill a girl and our healer girl is the sole one shown so far with a name and talent and some depth so I fear for her survival. Though she should be save for now due immortal detective being suspicious of Nana-chan.

I can't even begin to describe how lucky she is that the guy with actual proof of her killing the first guy had such an awful personality.

Yeah, but then again photos of stuff which has yet to happen isn't "real evidence" expect to the guy himself. For all the people know he could just make those photos happen due his fantasy not due having prophetic dreams. Was the same reasoning in a movie where there were three prophets adapted to a machine to tell the "time police" of future murders/etc and they arrested the people before they committed the crimes or sometimes before they even thought about doing them. And everything was fine for their leader with that till said machine told his colleges that he will kill the president someday. xD

But yeah, Nana was real lucky this time that the needle dropped towards the bench though given that last picture she had evidence that poisoning might be the way to kill him though she really tried hard to prove him wrong that fate will happen anyway. That she faked that fifth picture to make him overconfident and to enter the storageroom was just fate still working towards its end. Yet all fate says is that dog girl and immortal detective will find Nana with her next victim but not how that situation will end. Then again she has shown to be quite a quick-thinker and she had hours to prepare for this situation so I expect her to come out just fine for now.

He can easily prove his ability. If he had shown the picture to anyone, Nana's plot would be finished right there and then. As for the movie I assume you're talking about Minority Report? That barely shares any similarities other than being able to predict a future event.

I think he would have been able to throw doubt towards her but it seems that for one he kept his power secret and two he was a loner scumbag with no friends and Nana was a popular kind and cute girl who just became the elected leader of the class. Heck, it might have even gone so far that some might have believed him but others would have believed that he is an agent of the enemy of humanity who tries to slander and frame their new leader after killing their previous one.
And third and most important point: The guy believes his picture to be absolute. Meaning he knew that he will end there in that sport storage room no matter what he does. Telling everyone else in hopes of them believing him and taking Nana into custody before the picture comes true? No snowball chance in hell, that was his deep conviction. So why waste time trying to escape a fated situation when he knows that someday he's going to end there anyway?
That was his plan for this situation as he knew he can't be killed by Nana as long as he doesn't enter that room, which we saw was kind of true as Nana couldn't just kill him in his room for example. So Nana had to made him enter the room by giving him a prophetic mean of survival which again worked to prove his prophetic pictures true in the end.

Impressive. A realistic take on kids with superpowers. I was a bit turned off by the synopsis when the author didn't even bother to make cool terms for the Enemies and Talented, but this is really good.

There's so much wrong with that logic. Even if they don't believe him at first, he can prove his ability by taking five pictures and just wait until all of them inevitably happen. Regardless of how many will be convinced initially it will make Nana's plot flat out impossible bar some deus ex machina. And in the case of his demise it would instantly point to Nana as the culprit.

No matter how hard you try to justify his actions, they were pure stupidity. He knows that Nana has killed at least one person before and will attempt to take his life as well, yet he willingly shares his ability with her, uses it right in front of her while sleeping and even goes to the place where it happens by himself. Again, this whole sequence of events is only possible because the one person with absolute proof against Nana just happens to be the one guy without friends.

But from his POV it made sense that he shared it with her as she would believe him without fail as he knew she was the killer of Nanao and also knew she will be the killer of himself someday. Again, he believed that no matter what he does fate is set in stone, so the moment he saw that picture he knew he is going to end in that situation no matter what he does. So instead of trying to save his life, which he thought wouldn't work anyway, and the lives of his classmates, who he didn't care about as proven by him letting Nanao die, he went for the "blackmail her into my girlfriend" option. He was a true nihilist as he believed that there is no meaning in life/your life choices as no matter what you do "fate" doesn't give a crap. If his dream photo says it happens so it will exactly happen so, just like the noodles hit Nana in the face in the very same angle as his photo showed.
So yeah, I can see why he went for the "fun and crazy" option instead of the "normal and sane" option when he dreamed on her very first day that she will kill the first class president. Him not giving a crap about anything was what killed him, not him being a loner. Like you said if he had showed the other classmates those photos Nana would have been most likely finished or at least had heavy doubts thrown her way and wouldn't had been able to do any kills without being watched or her targets being on guard the moment she talks to them. Honestly, the only reason the guy started to talk to her was her killing him in that photo, if he had not dreamed it then he would have just continued to dream about her killing his classmates and have a laugh about it!
So in the end his dream photos, all of them, were all self-fulfilling prophetic dreams, if he had just kept his mouth shut Nana would have never found out about his dream ability, but he didn't because he believed it made no difference and got his death sentence rolling.

You can also say that these dream photos anticipate everything that is going to happen, even actions (or lack of actions) of those who look at these photos.

Then it would be really impossible to change the future of these photos.

But he never saw a picture with his death in the first place. In the picture Nana was standing behind him with a rope but the result of that could have been anything. As a matter of fact he did not die from that situation. The guy easily deflected the attack because he knew it was coming. He had several possibilities to increase his chances of not dying based on the first picture but he chose the most idiotic one. It's not that he knew he would die that night and therefore chose to at least have some fun until then but because he could blackmail a pretty girl and be safe up to that point. All of his actions like showing off his power to her were simply because of his arrogance.

I think this necromancer girl might be the first talented kid who could actually be a danger to the world if left alone. Clearly, she used her power to revive her dead childhood-friend as a zombie and then all his talk, his behaviour, his hand on her hand, that was all her! She received a trauma of loss and couldn't cope with it properly, like mourn, be sad, grow with it and accept his death but instead "cheated" death, or at least her loss because of it. Just imagine if she starts to think that it would be perfect if she could control everybody around her like that, her annoying parents would be less annoying, she could make the living nagging teacher an undead cool teacher and she could get tons of "friends". Dunno if she would really go that way but if it happened already once why shouldn't it happen a second or third time again and maybe some time with her actively killing the person to get what she wants?

Man, in this kinda situation it would have been nice to really read minds. Can't wait to see how her plot armor will save talentless Nana yet again. XD

Nana needs to slow down a little and plan a bit more. She rushes into these kills a bit much to continue to get away with them.

OTOH... can't shake the feeling that Nana is being lied to by her controllers.

Seems like Nana is starting to question a little? Like the whole island being full of corpses of students and teachers and she heard nothing about it. Anyway, curious to see how the Necromancer girl is going to die, because dying, that she will do. Question is just how and when.
