Yep, Hinagiku was right up there in Hata-Sensei's head when he envisioned Hayate no Gotoku.

As much as I love Hina, no. She entered the manga in volume 4, so she was a very late invention.

But a brilliant one ^_^

She appeared late, but Kenjiro Hata, IIRC, had envisioned Hina (Not by name but rather by character) in a One-shot he did earlier, involving what would, to Hayate fans, be the escapades of Hinagiku and Yukiji Katsura.

The episode isn't actually that great. To be frank, the timing of the scenes, the gags, and the character reactions SUCKS! Let's be honest here: being random is one thing, but timing is everything. And they fail. Bad. All through the episode I constantly felt that they rushed things through, make all the characters get flustered, misunderstand each other, etc., and prioritize cheap parody (what's so great about a small caramelldansen reference?) over substance and style.

Ergh.

Compare this to the Maria episode (which is by no means perfect); the timing and the little romance here and there was handled far better.

However, some forgiveness is due thanks to the fact that this episode stars the world's favorite pink-haired perfect princess.

Voted 11/10 though. This poll is awesome. >_<

I somehow thought that this was definitely one of the best episodes of the entire show. Hoping that Hina's birthday shows up in an OVA or special somewhere down the road.

Same here. Lost alot of interest in the show around 28ish. But you gotta love Hina.

Well , Hayate should pick Hina for his lover , she is the better choice .
Milady is too young and immature yet . Maybe Saki can be a good choice , she is mature ^^ or the maid

5 = His childhood friend (don't remember her name )
6 = Milady
