My interpretation is that he just didn't have any real motivation to survive. He basically lost everything, what does he have to live for? But then the restaurant gave him something to look forward to, a reason to keep living.

I guess the closest thing in real world history would being half black in the time of the slave trade through having some distint black heritage. Through half blacks didn't have a vastly extended life expertency and the ablity to weild magic, the social stigma of being part "other" must be pretty bad if there hiding her away dispite her skills.

Being pretty wasn't asset if you were mixed race in the slave trade era, just meant you were more likely to be the victum of violent lust. Try looking into "nutcracking" if you want to hear some horror stories.

My personal experience with Katsudon, is that it is just so much easier to eat with a spoon and fork. So even though i use chopsticks just fine, I prefer weatern utensils for that dish.

thanks for the answer, this means which even the demon king was after his head since it seens which was the demonking which put his head at price, but also it's looks like on that world the demon king is not direct on war with humans and demons and humans are really living "at peace" or at last some sort of "peace", since the arena where the lionman ended is supposed to be controlled by the demon king or something like that.

well basedon on first episode when the demon girl was recruted it's really looked like demons and humans while still have the "basic" prejudice and discrimination" they still not at war and even humans somehow could accept a demon between then(accept in a sense of not try to kill at sight and just discriminate).

now we already saw the background of almost all of the "regular customers" of the restaurant, now for me the only missing character is the "second female waitress, the one in full dark outfit and with black hair, from where she gonna come?? from this world too or maybe our "normal world"??

Well Lion man was defeated by "one of heroes" and heroes are guys who defeated Demon god and thus demon kind. Yes they are not in war. Demons are subjugated already.

You can think about it as after war Germany or Japan. They have some self governing but in the end they still have to follow wish of victors. And they definitely can't have one of their own cause trouble...

Oh god finally! It looks like the regulars will finally talk to each other instead just ordering and talking about the food! At least that what it looks like from the preview.

As for the episode itself... it was pleasant I guess. had some decent world-building and the Lionel was kinda of funny with his reactions to the Katsudon. Not all the remarkable beyond that with it being the same song dance even with the non newcomers.

I was surprised ta Aletta not being able to read tho, but I suppose it makes sense if you think about her circumstances, living hand to mouth and all. But still it's amusing that the Lizard dude is more literate that her. Guess education is actual a thing in their tribe.

So yeah hopefully next week will spice things up a bit since looks almost everyone introduced now.

Watched episode 5:

The lionman looked really sad when he could not order anymore food - just one bowl isn't enough for him. Good thing the owner was kind enough to loan him 4 extra bowls of Katsudon. I think that katsudon saved his life, because it gave him something to look forward too, and also literally gave him some energy - easier to fight if you're not hungry.

Well, I know this isn't an action anime, but they managed to get decent voice actors for the characters that fight. The lizardman hero last week had good voice acting too.

As for the second half... so the menu is written by the old sage and the half elf. So half elf are not strictly vegan like the 100% elves - she even has a magical fridge at home for storing the puddings. XD

Enjoyed this episode a lot. I'm kind of surprised it hasn't really become boring or very repetitive to me.

I liked the half-elf princess. She's making the best out of her life.

To be fair she's rich. Even if she is discriminated against Victoria is well provided for thanks to her family and can purse her interests. She also comes across as being kind of an eccentric genius so social issues like that probably don't bother her a whole lot.
