Yes I am shocked Van Hohenheim did not make the poll. What is wrong with Japan? I also feel Lust and Hughes must be influenced by the 1st anime.

Well I like Lust a lot, but her role in Brotherhood didn't go much further than introductory first "boss" of the main villain group, hence not making it past the first 1/3 of the series. And she was lacking in the characterization/development department too, ending up as fairly one dimensional. As for Gluttony and Sloth, they both had somewhat important roles due to being the fake Doors of Truth and the one to dig the circle around Amestris respectively, but their characters themselves didn't really matter much. So yeah.

As for the Gangan poll... can't say I'm a big fan of that idea. I didn't know there was a poll in the last Gangan issue (though I'd love to see it), but if it's the same one we got in the Chapter 94 edition, then I really don't think it should be used here. See for yourself.

I mean... we wouldn't even have an option for goddamn King Bradley, and that is just... wrong.

EDIT:
Oh beaten to the punch. Yeah that does seem a little better than the chapter 94 one, but still a bit, uh, unappropriate for here I'd say.

And yeah I'm pretty sure Hughes wouldn't be nearly as popular if it hadn't been for his increased screentime in the first anime. I like him in the manga and Brotherhood but damn do I think people overrate him sometimes.

Yeah I like Endless Twilight's choices better than the Gangan's choices too.

It really shocks me Hohenheim wasn't there he was such a great character. In a previous poll I have (in the character guide book) he was listed as number 15. You would think he would have gotten more popular not less.

edit: It looks like the chapter 94 poll is the same as the poll in the character guide book.


edit 2: And I also think Hughes is a bit overrated. I like him well enough but I don't think he is the best character ever created like some people do.

I think Ill go with what Endless listed, it seems to have the best potenial for covering everyone who played a big role in the series. Ill keep the other two polls open just for the benefit if people still want to vote for characters not in this thread. Basically this poll covers the last half of the anime which is what I was looking for.

That's just my (unbiased) opinion though. I'm sure some would be displeased with Hughes not being there, since he seems to be rather popular. His role in Brotherhood is fairly limited though, even more so than in the manga, which is why I chose to go with others over him.

I like this list, I don't mind if it will be the one in new possible poll

Too bad people keep voting in it instead of the actual FINAL POLL, which kinda seems more fitting for a series that, you know, has been over for months. Guess scrolling down the topic list is too much trouble.

I voted for Ed, Roy, and Envy... Ed because, well...he's just epic! Roy because I've always wanted fire snapping action, and his english dub voice isnt unbearable to hear. And lastly I chose Envy becuse he's evil and sadistic and I'm always second guessing myself about his gender

It was hard for me to chose between Ed and Roy, in the end I'd say Ed wins my vote =]
Moments like Ed using up some of his life so save his life now was really one of my favorit moments and I just love it when he shows off his genius IQ, the parts where the gang split up for a bit you get to see him shine a lot.
