Excellent! I think there's no need to do a reboot, the original series work just fine.

I'm looking forward to seeing Nami's desing so bad...

I think I would be mad if they had rebooted the series.

Since FMP was my second anime series when i started down on this (anime/manga/light novel)path, I consider the old ones the best there is, even if the story deviated slightly from the source.

Moreso I'd like to see the remaining story animated from TSR onwards.
This is really something, to endure 14+ years since the first series came out. (manly tears).
Can't wait to see it.

Any news on casting changes, if any? I'm hoping there are none, as FMP already had one hell of a cast to begin with.

Satsuki Yukino and Yukana were at the event announcing the new anime, so I think it's safe to assume they'll for sure be back and I see no reason why the rest of the cast wouldn't

According to twitter, there was an update on the new website. When I checked, there is a post in the news section essentially saying that the news section is open and to check for updates there. So yeah...nothing of importance.

But hey, I'll scrape the bottom of the barrel for any progress at this point. Any change is a good change in my eyes.

Well, they've updated / started the "story" section of the site these days... but on that page there are only the main novels and the "Another" ones, with description and links from where to buy them - in japanese, nothing else.

One year after the new series announcement, this year's Fantasia Bunko event looks to follow up on the progress. I hope we do learn some important information like the new series name, studio producer, and maybe even some images/character designs but that might be a stretch. I don't expect anything like a full blown teaser trailer, but it would certainly be a nice surprise. At least we can safely say that Sousuke will have the same VA, along with Kaname and Tessa, now that Tomokazu Seki is making an appearance this go around.
