Could it be possible the song exists and they just can't bundle it with the Sony-published Blu-ray? Although I suppose in that case they'd use 主題歌 as opposed to テーマ曲.

At this point I am bummed out. A big part of my support for her getting the Shinobu part was to hear her sing, now that she won't sing I rather she never got the job.

Description says bonus CD will only have the "instrumental theme piece" rather than theme song CD. It's no wonder, however, 2ch has dug up an old interview with Sakamoto in which she explained her refusal to ever do character songs.

but...iirc she has done character songs. maybe they are including the normal version of the op but they didn't feel the need to state so? i don't recall them saving anything about the normal op's for other characters in BD stuff or regular versions, though i may be incorrect

But that's not a "character song" - that's just a song on the ending credits, she does loads of tie-in songs like that and may not even voice a character in the show.

Maaya has done no character songs for loads of shows where others have - so for shows like Kuroshitsuji, Gundam SEED Destiny, Ouran etc. she does not sing character songs. Presumably it's because she or her management/JVC pitch her as an actress and singer in her own right or something.

Ending theme for Koimonogatari will be "snowdrop", a duet by Haruna Luna and Kawano Marina.
Presumably Hana will have something else.
