Marvel vs capcom 3's design were completely redesigned though and there are plenty of new characters as well. So i wouldn't saw that this game took more effort into the characters than mvc3

With 3D modeling it's much easier to produce characters. Just look at how many characters SFxT got.

I think only KOF13 got more characters and is a sprite based 2D fighter. However, the quality sort of leaves much to be desired in comparison to ASW animation.

Well here's the list characters that will be used in SBO (Tougeki) this year.

Mitsuru - 11
Aigis - 9
Chie - 9
Narukami - 9
Teddie/Kuma - 6
Akihiko - 4
Yukiko - 4
Shadow Labrys - 3
Elizabeth - 2
Kanji - 1
Labrys - 1
Naoto - 1
Yousuke - 1

So Mitsuru has the largest following...no surprise there.

I'm surprised at how many Aigis players there are, considering I have heard she was one of the weakest before due to restrained resources.

No, she was always top tier because of her stupid mixups and unburstable combo's with megido fire in orgia mode in both the pre-and post-patch version. Her limited gun ammo was never meant to be offensive but rather as a defensive tool to stall the opponent to recharge up orgia mode.

No... I don't think anyone can compare to pre-patch Chie with 90% fatal counter combos.

Aigis was top tier together with Mitsuru and Chie prepatch (Arcadia didn't include Chie in their prepatch S tier list though ) and as far as i can see, Aigis and Mitsuru still are post patch.
Chie's 5b fatal was stupid but that is hardly the only reason why she was top tier

Also I wasn't talking about who was more broken, but to disprove DragoonKain3's post that he thought that Aigis was low tier because of her resource limitations. But that didn't stop Bang (CS1 and maybe extend) or Valkenheyn from being high tier characters in blazblue.

edit: i forgot about Carl Clover. He was pretty stupid in CT with his clap loop

That "loop" is nothing new. People already discovered it almost a month ago that when using 10 different moves with the same move proration in the same combo, then the same move proration is no longer counted after the 11th.

Apparently this discovery in p4u also opened some combo's in blazblue.

Thanks, I don't watch enough Naoto matches to know that loop because when I do see her play others don't use it, due to them playing the zoning and trapping game, or can't find the opportunity too. The Naoto "loop" looks pretty tricky to do because you have to time the gun, cancel it out, do combo, and repeat, that's just me though.

Oh yes, Noel Vermillion also has one too. I remember seeing this a few days ago.

Looks like this game is getting a manga, nice! Focusing on the emotions on the characters, interesting, since this is a existing RPG series, turned fighting game, now manga I wonder how they'll go about this for each individual character.

I don't like the regular Labrys that much, because she seems like a one trick pony character to me though.

She'll definitely be a pain to deal with because of the overhead mixups, and the fact that her damage doubles each time her hits connects. In essence: Red axe = death, at least to me.

I don't know, but since emotions are coming into play here, it's safe to say that the story will focus on each of the individual characters, their reasons for fighting, and how ideals will clash. That's just my take on this.
