But a 7-part movie (seven seperate films airing in series, each covering one chapter from the novel)? That's just nuts.

From reading the special comments, here's my interpretation of the general reaction that Nasu and Takeuchi-san had in response to the 7-part movie announcement:

Yes, it's going to be a 7-piece movie. Each will be covering one chapter from the novel:

1.「俯瞰風景」
2.「殺人考察（前）」
3.「痛覚残留」
4.「伽藍の洞」
5.「矛盾螺旋」
6.「忘却録音」
7.「殺人考察（後）」

They will be aired in sequence at Theater Shinjuku as late shows (movies that only air during late night (after 9PM, for example)) sometime this year.

As for "not enough content". Well, I will agree that a 7-parter does sound like a bit of an overkill, but if they really want to explore the serious themes and conversations of the novel, there's probably more than enough material to use here.

Either way, it's great news for Rakkyo fans. Shiki is still my favorite Type-Moon heroine ever, and Mikiya is just like a grown-up Tohno Shiki, who's my favorite Type-Moon male lead, so that technically makes Mikiya my favorite too. ^^

The character designs remind me a little bit of the Tsukihime anime's but has more of the original.

The music is being handled by ZIZZ Studio, apparantely.

As for the short, short trailer (which was not supposed to be shown outside of TAF yet), it's too blurry to make out the details, but I'm glad to see all the characters in animation.

The character design feels oddly off for some reason though.

I'm not so sure, but before seeing the trailer, I sorta expected Mikiya to be more "Shirou-ish" in looks. But he looks a bit different than I thought. Touko looked the way I expected her to be though.

Meh, maybe I've been looking at F/ha and Zero for too long.

Mikiya was the basic character design/personality later used for Tohno Shiki. I don't think Mikiya and Shirou share anything in common.

If thats true, then they've changed there style since doing the musical score for the anime adaptation of Demonbane.
