I'm only up to episode 5 of Unicorn, but after having watched SEED Destiny, I can't look at Full Frontal without laughing.

Suichi Ikeda does a great job and I love his voice but... The character is almost like Destiny's Meer all over again, except that this time he did it to himself

Well to be fair, we have no confirmation yet whether the anime Full Frontal is the real Char or not. One thing is certain: he does have Char’s actual memory (even Char's "final moments" in CCA), so he’s not really faking Char like Meer faking Lacus.

Well, duh. I know about the novel.

But what I’m talking about is the anime which is already a different beast compared to the novel. For example, you don’t see Banshee has Armed Armor BS in the novel do you? So before all is said and done, I'm not gonna draw any conclusion here. Right now, Full Frontal could be anybody before Sunrise give us their last word on this matter in Episode 7.

I’m only saying that they showed Full Frontal reminiscing the moment during the climax of CCA in the anime. So, no matter who he is (Char or not) he indeed possesses the real Char’s memory, maybe not the whole thing, but he has it nonetheless.

He's not Char.

With all due respect, technically, that quote alone does not really prove him he’s not Char. Char is a complex character. He can be the real Char and still saying those quoted lines as FF (depends on his intentions to whoever he’s saying those lines to). That said, I’m not naive. I know what happened in the novel, and I’m not desperately hoping that anime-FF will turn out to be the real Char. Just saying that (technically) the possibility is still there until all is said and done in episode 7.

I took the quote as meaning that, whether or not he's actually Char, he's embodying him to such a degree in both personality and actions that he basically is Char, because that's what Zeon needs.

So, essentially, he could be Char or just someone doing a very, very good impersonation of him, but in the end it's irrelevant. For all intents and purposes, Full Frontal is the closest thing to Char there is left in the UC.

Char in one of his 0079 getups made a cameo with Lalah and actually exchanged 1-2 lines with one of the characters

I think Aimer's new song, and thus the final Unicorn ending theme, is pretty nice .

It looks like Banagher and Full Frontal have their face-to-face confrontation before the final fight with the Neo Zeong... unless the clips are taken out of order of course .

See now, Char was Casval's alias/fake personality, so in all honesty, one can say that Full Frontal is Char, just not the Casval Deikum one. Char is a symbol for Zeon, it doesn't really matter who it really is in the end, One can draw lines between Meer/Lacus in Destiny and FF/Casval/Char in UC.

it's the public image that matters, not who he actually is
