Found a version of ep 0 for myself, and it looks like there's quite a fair bit of comedy (which I have zero problem with) and the characters are pretty easy to get a grip on. Been a while since I've heard Haruka Tomatsu as the "desu wa" ojou type. The last role was...Sumi, I think. And much like Yumiko, there was a character suitably disconnected from reality.
Also, a character song album has already been confirmed for this show, which instantly gives me some reason to pay attention to it before it even technically begins. |

oh geez...Ai Nonaka does the voice for Koyomi. No wonder the lisping sounded so familiar -_-; Her role as Fuuko from Clannad will forever haunt me. Although, it isn't as bad as when she did Kanade from Asura Cryin', so I guess I don't mind her as much this time around.
Fond of the character design, as expected of Miki Miyashita. I wonder if the rest of the episodes will follow in Ep. 0's style and flow, or will they introduce a slightly more serious plot line to hold things together. Not that comedy and fan service is bad or anything (while...fan service part might be a little bit unnecessary...) |

Seeing which series end up getting early subbed releases has become something to watch for in recent seasons, and it looks like this series is one of them.
When science and magic meet, a new...wait, that's the wrong show. |

As it is usually the case for the shows on the Sat. 24:00 BS11 timeslot (Akikan, Hatsukoi Limited), a 30-minute "episode", mostly containing interviews, aired today, one week before the actual start.
As usual, we get to hear the main seiyuu (here, Nonaka Ai and Nabatame Hitomi) give us an introduction about the story, their characters, etc. The whole OP was also played (and despite the talking as it was playing, that makes me fairly happy because I've listened to the TV-size version of Programming for non-fiction way too many times already), along with an interview of Natsuko Aso - who actually mentioned she wouldn't mind trying seiyuu work one day. I'm suddenly reminded of the likes of Kuribayashi Minami and Yuinyan... well, the results are variable I'd be curious to hear Nacchan pop up in Gendai Mahou, even for a secondary role.

Loved the "0" episode. How do you top Louise, whose spells never work? You give us an apprentice witch whose spells work but they always summon pans - I don't know why but I laughed as I just typed that.
Misa and Yumiko are like slapstick versions of Yuuko and the Ame-warashi in xxxHolic but my favorite, so far, is Kaho who seems like a mischievous Yuki Nagato. |

Cute enough. A straight moe series, the dropping pan thing is a bit cliche, but this is the type of series you don't watch to be impressed. You watch it cause it's cute and fun, so yay for another series that doesn't pretend to be high art coughkyoanicough.
