Ep 1 had a surprisingly light-hearted tone to it. This type of show is usually not my type of show. But if future episodes continue to have some of the light-hearted touch that ep 1 had, I may actually make it to the end of the season.

I picked it up because the animation in the trailer looked great, and the episode fully delivered on that front. Everything about it screams "all style, no substance" but that's ok with me since that's pretty much what I expected. If I turn out to be wrong, all the better.
One thing does bother me... why does everyone look like they have a runny nose?

This episode is so fuckin' 90s it takes me back when I was watching Street Fighter II V & Virtua Fighter anime series in my younger days.
Btw, are some of the guys working in this show the same Mappa guys from Garo: Vanishing Line? The animation style & movements are very similar (for the non-CG fights):

My take on this is "dumb premise executed smartly", and those tend not to have legs. The premiere was really well-done but couldn't totally mask how inane the story seems to be. But this season is such a sucking vacuum of nothingness that I have to give something like this show a longer leash than usual.

Pretty much a given the level of sakuga in this show. Can’t wait to see in action when they delve deeper into their techniques. It’s been sometime since I read the manhwa, but I remember it did take a while before I got hooked. Once it did though, ooh boy. It doesn’t really subvert shounen tropes, but what it is is fun action manhwa with really good relationship development between the three MCs.

"We have no talent and don't care anyway, let's just make ugly garbage cgi movement and hope nobody realizes it or doesn't care if they do."
This is the equivalent of "shakey cam makes super action". Last edited by mergele; 2020-07-08 at 14:45. |

well I certainly didn't realize/didn't care so I'd say that they did a great job with their CGI. Since "garbage CGI" is literally CGi that is badly done enough that you cannot help to notice and that it looks terrible so you care, I'd say that's enough for me to conclude that it wasn't garbage to the slightest
