But I wonder where did the info came from? I mean, the video didn't say anything about half demon and angel, only the weapons has such implications. Was there any statement made by NT during Gamescom?

I'm not sure what marvel's multiuniverse is since i generally dont touch marvel stuff . I'll just assume it means that this Dante is a seperate entity of sorts. But is he really?

Well, you can say that this is a different version of Dante. Imagine it like Tim Burton's Batman and Christopher Nolan's rebooted one.

It has been stated that this DmC is a reboot of the series, but they happen to take a different timeline of the story. The origin story was present in the original game, although in a form of novel. This DmC doesn't necessarily mean to overwrite that.

Good to see they finally decided to just say the little words that would make this game not be a huge issue.

"We give up....This game is not canon period....Ya happy?"

After all their efforts to try to make it tie in to the originals they just decided to give up.

But now begs the question....Why don't they just rename the character you play as? Or better yet just give it a new name? Why associate this with the original now that we know it has NOTHING to do with the others?

Capcom said that DMC was too western so it should be handled by a western dev team because apparently they ran out of ideas for it.

To me it's just plain lazy on Capcom's part. Also the dev they've chosen is not at par with DMC developers.

Also Alex Jones with the hair again in the end of this "Capcom's" side interview should just stop.

A bit new info regarding the gameplay:

Speaking with the PlayStation blog at Gamescom, Ninja Theory creative director, Tameem Antoniades, touched upon DmC Devil May Cry and the new Dante, revealing some interesting tidbits about how the game is both similar and different from the previous games.



Last week, we reported that DmC’s Dante is half demon and half angel, but there’s more to his background than that. This Dante is more of a street brawler.



“Growing up in a situation where the demons are out to kill him; society in general, controlled by the demons, is out to crush him; growing up on the streets… So, he’s more of a street brawler,” Antoniades shared about Dante’s background. “His moves are less refined than you would have seen in previous DMCs.”



As far as combat goes, Dante will also spend more time in the air than previous Devil May Cry games, as DmC attempts to expand further on aerial combos. It also has dynamic music that changes as you fight.



“The music responds to your ranking system,” Antoniades revealed, “so the better you play, the more layers of music kick in, and if you get to the top ranks, then the screaming vocals kick in and it kind of affects you when you play, because you know you’re doing well.”



DmC has dynamic environments that distort as you play, switching between the “real” world and the demon world. Sometimes, architecture will distort and block your path. Interestingly, this was the result of an attempt to retain an element from the original Devil May Cry games, which locked you in areas until you defeated all the enemies present.



Finally, fielding a question about Dante’s personality and whether he’s more “green and naive” since he’s younger, Antoniades replied: “I wouldn’t say he’s green and naive, I’d just say he doesn’t give a ****.”

I guess that's their way of including Nero's grab from DMC4, I very much welcome that because it helps increase combos.

As for the recent interviews, I'm a little more confident and interested in the title...but still skeptical since I was completely sold on their previous games just ot be disappointed. I'll wait and see.

They said in this interview wait and see. They're not answering anymore questions, yet they're reading the questions on the live youtube feed, they seem tense and just say wait. There was a close door demo of the game that was not shown in public btw said around 10:00.

I liked the song, the areas made it look like Bayonetta x Shadows of the damned, which is cool
