Well, you talk about really girly stuff, but the titles you mentioned were both shounen romance-comedy titles. So that is what I will focus on:
Ai Yori Aoshi(licensed) Onegai Teacher(licensed) Onegai Twins(unlicensed) Tenchi Muyo! OVA's(mostly licensed) Tenshi na Konimaiki(unlicensed) If you really want to give some shoujo a try here are some other picks: Full Moon wo Sagashite(unlicensed) Fruits Basket(licensed) |

yea, people already mentioned this, but love hina and chobits really aren't girlie at all. they are DEFINITELY aimed at guys.
if you want girlie titles that are so sickengly sweet you want to vomit, check out (as people already mentioned) Bottle Fairy Tiny Snow Fairy Sugar Mermaid Melody Pichi Pichi Pitch! Fushigi Yuugi is another vomitous one that has extremely cheesy love story and WAY too many sappy moments. i'd disagree with Fruits Basket being really girlie. back when it was being fansubbed and first released, it was many guys' favorite series as well. its a hilarious comedy. |

Third or Fourth or whatever numbered agreement that Love Hina and Chobits are boy fantasy things...
New: Princess Tutu Ask Dr. Rin Nanaka 6/17 DN Angel Old: Card Captor Sakura Sailor Moon Saint Tail Fancy Lala With Boob scenes and such more on par with Love Hina: Tenchi Muyo (really good series though, at least the initial part) Ai Yori Aoshi I really really have to disagree about that last comment for Fushigi Yuugi. Yes, Fruits Baskets was liked by a lot of guys and may have been some guy's favorites, but you know, Fushigi Yuugi was is also liked by a lot of guys and for some guy's, is their continuing favorite over the years. So by the argument for FB, then FY is also not a girlie series. It is Shoujo, yes, but it is one of those rare but really truly wonderful everything animes that has comedy, action, drama, fight scenes, magic, romance, awesome bad guys, great plot and great story buildup. Though I admit, what romance they had *WAS* extremely sappy. But, an everything anime for everyone...*shrugs* (For really really good everything anime, watch escaflowne!) |

Remember shoujo and shonen are just labels on the primary target audience. There are many boys who like shoujo series and girls who like shonen. To the original poster: If you mean you want anime like Chobits and Love Hina, here are some suggestions Ai Yori Aoshi Comic Party Mahoromatic Tenshi series Dual Onegai Teacher Oh My Goddess! (Is this only a manga?) If you want 1 step closer to shoujo (but still within shounen bounds) you can try Maison Ikkoku Kimagure Orange Road Touch Azumanga Diaoh If you want REAL girl's anime then you can try starting with Sailor Moon Card Captor Sakura Fruits Basket Full Moon wo Sagashite Kare Kano No Jijiou Princess Tutu Fushigi Yuugi |

Anyway, let me recommend Hana Yori Dango There's a long series and 1 (may be more, ye gods!) movie. It's very girly and is all about romance, etc. Has some funny moments. |

Hm... adding to the argument...
Fruits Basket is definitely fairly girly, but a guy could definitely like it too. Fushigi Yuuhi... lots of sappy stuff, but also some hentai guyish stuff in there too... and Hana Yori Dango, definitely meant for girls! It's a soap opera, after all! |
