Failed on his job-hunting, shut-in Sagara Kurohiko went to the mountain on the day of a typhoon where he is struck by lightning and dies. But he is still alive, in a strange land with a great holy tree. To his surprise, his physique has rejuvenated to when he was teen. Brought to the academy near the tree, he is soon suspected as a spy from another country, and was brought to the headmaster. An accident happened on the way, which enraged the headmaster. Before Kurohiko can get blasted by magic, his eyes laid upon an old parchment. He took it and read the contents. Suddenly four holes appeared and black chains came out from each of it, binding the headmaster. It is then revealed that Kurohiko just recited an incantation of "Forbidden Art," an art which is extremely powerful from a legend. Apparently, no one has been able to decipher the contents of the scroll, which makes Kurohiko the only current Forbidden Spellcaster. Sparked by this, the headmaster offers Kurohiko to attend the academy.

I did a MT of chapter 1 of the light novel seeing how the first published volume was recently released and the plot did interest me. However, I don't know if I'll continue so I hope someone will be interested enough to take this on. Currently there are 120+ web novel chapters.

I haven't read too far, but from what I saw in another thread, he does have a harem and since he is the only one who is able to use the Forbidden Arts, he must be OP.

Since MC is able to read the Forbidden Art, we can easily assume it was written in Japanese, meaning there was a Japanese predecessor that also came to this world. Legend tells of a man who appears out of nowhere with black eyes and hair.

Glad to hear. By the looks of it, it seems the only obstacle to learning this forbidden magic is reading japanese. So does this mean any native worlder could use it if they learned japanese?

Yea. Sounds like some sort of asspull, but doesn't it make sense if we think about it? He's about to be killed and he suddenly sees a piece of parchment with his native language on it.

I took the synopsis from another thread, I guess I'll have to change it since it is misleading. The MC doesn't contemplate suicide, he just doesn't care if he dies. When "reincarnated" in another world, he sees this as a sign to restart his life. He later states that no matter how hard he tries, he won't get anywhere, but if he's in a different world, perhaps he can do something.

The headmaster? Seriously? Ugh. I hate Dragonar's illustrator. Everyone looks like a damn kid and when the main character's such a goody two-shoes it gets even worse.
