Noooooooooo, only came here to see how the light novel is doing only to find out it's on a hiatus

My memory is a bit hazy (it's been a while), but did the current volumes ever explain why the tricycle in the box acts as a catalyst to summoning a Stage V Gastrea?

I believe that Rentarou runs across some hints to the origin of the Gastrea somewhere in Volume 3 or 4, both of which Yen Press has already released.

Nope. Until now it hasn't been explained why it acted as a catalyst. Rentarous ranking is still to low for such a information.

That's why I'm asking. It was fan-tranlation (don't know to whom go credits) and I wasn't sure if it was true or not. Does that mean that in volume 7 we've got some big revelation? If I am wrong, then could you explain what really happened.

Just finished vol 7. Well, I like the anime, but LN took me by surprise. I really like it. Yeah author like to torture MC, sometimes too much, but the story is simply awesome! When I finished vol 7 and I have seen when it was released, I was like omg, this is not happening. But well, there is just nothing left just to wait.
Also, things which happen in vol 6 between Satomi x Kisara, it was really nice. Especially the end.

Kanzaki had a complicated health problems from the last time I heard. Right now, can't be sure of the current situation

And i'm still waiting for Rentaro to become an entity like Alex Mercer, consuming a Stage 5, etc.

The last time I have heard the author became a restaurant owner or something. Although I have seen that on MAL with no official source to confirm.

Very depressing. I wish there could be some kind of info from Kanzaki or Dengeki themselves. A statement like "the series is on hiatus but will return someday" would suitable enough.

Author probably lost his interest, that's why there's no official statement like he's on hiatus or working on another series
