In all honesty, PlayStation fans should've seen this coming. It's a new age. Things are a lot different than they were back in 2006, which is why these new policies are going to be enforced. I don't like these new policies anymore than the next guy, but PlayStation fans probably should've been watching their mouths if they didn't want to be laughed at. |

All I know is that I'm 99% sure of not buying an Xbox One. The current experience of watching my 360 slowly get covered with dust due to the lack of games has made sure of that. Microsoft banking so much on streaming and other services that aren't available where I live just helps me push that number up

Of course now, which all this dystopian crap Microsoft is pulling, even if I had used my 360 a lot, I doubt I'd want to fetch this Bone |

Sony on the other hand has had plenty of leaks regarding the use of Gaikai-based technology (which we know is coming on the PS4). I'm not a big fan of that (since it's effectively DRM) but at least PS4 games will still come in disks. Also: I'm almost 100% sure that Sony will keep up the practice of bundling Network Passes with their new games like they do on the Vita. It's annoying yes but since I don't really play online I don't really care much for it. I wish that were true.

Who plays multiplayer anything on a Sony console, anyway?
The XBOX One is pointless. The Wii U is an amusing curiosity at best. The 3DS is for Monster Hunter and Pokemon. The PS4 and Vita are for JRPGs. The PC is for everything else.

If Sony follows suit, there won't such thing as calming the hate, because there will be the "PC master race" makes their entrance. It'll only pour more fuel into the burning flame.

This is much wider in scope, and larger in scale. Like Vallen said, this isn't a background issue anymore. It's not like, say, same-day DLC. No, this effects every aspect of the console, and the games you play on it. It is a dramatic shift. Plus, another difference is that there's no pros and cons this time. I think many gamers viewed things like same-day DLC as the price for having DLC to begin with. DLC isn't inherently anti-gamer or anti-consumer. There are ways that it can make things better for gamers. An obvious example is that instead of having to buy a physical patch to update your game in a "brick and mortar" store, or have it snail-mailed to you directly, you can just get it straight off the internet. Very convenient by comparison. But there's no pros and cons with the XBox One's new "features". That's very obvious by how Microsoft is trying to pass off things that were always true for consoles (the ability for everybody in your family to play the games) as some new, recent "feature".

It's just that I find rather pointless to choose sides, since well, you can't really trust corporations these days, only their products.
