Personally, I see this as a case of the show either incorporating an added bonus to a joke later in the episode where Popuko does a Mickey Mouse impression (despite Pipimi's concerns about her getting in trouble because it) or making reference to the "Nice Boat" meme (even if the scene itself is tame).

personally I found the joke with the family much heavier than the supposed one that was censored, but well, this must be cultural, here in Brazil Jackie Chan films are censored.

The adlibs on the second half were indeed brilliant. I absolutely cracked up on the long neck scene. Dubbing this show must be an absolute riot.

This time we got Renton and Eureka (Yuuko Sanpei and Kaori Nazuka) as Popuko and Pipimi in the first half and Connie and Eren (Hiro Shimono and Yuuki Kaji) as them in the second one. I love that they kept that "I cracked my voice" outtake in one of the eyecatches. "Ki-mi-no-na-waaaaaaaaaaa" also cracked me up.

Yeah, at first it bothered me that they were re-hashing that strip, but the AC-bu guys really went all out with those sketchbooks, and it was nice to see what they look like.

It was hard for me to adjust to Satomi Koorogi doing her extreme baby voice as Popuko, but it was cool that they also got Akiko Yajima to voice Pipimi in the first half. Nohara siblings in the house! Hakuouki/Naruto/Yowapeda pals Showtaro Morikubo and Kosuke Toriumi were pretty good in the second half, too.

Youtuber being lower than scum: The first thing that came to mind here was the legendary "Youtube crimes" Pop Team Epic comic.

Bamboo Yazuka: It's a nod to Takeshobo, the publisher of the Pop Team Epic manga (and butt of numerous jokes).

The censored anime: The censored dialogue is a reference to THE IDOLM@STER: Cinderella Girls. Basically, the two girls who sing the ED for the "female version" of the episode voice Anzu and Kirari in that series, with bkub (the creator of Pop Team Epic), having done numerous fan art of the two on Pixiv.
