Finally got around watching the second episode, but the match between Ichika and Cecilia feels a bit underwhelming. It was done well, but it was different from what I heard - well, probably it was just me, but whatever.

... It's fun seeing how much Houki is trying to hold back her "dere" so much.

As for why Ichika is able to pilot them, it might be because he's the brother of the best IS pilot of all time rather than Houki's friend. Or both. Furthermore, I wouldn't be surprised if Orimura nee-san and Houki nee-san are close friends.

I was thinking along those lines as well, but one thing bothers me is that Ichika didn't know that Tabane was Houki's sister. That might have something to do with her disappearing, but don't know when she disappeared.

Since there are only was it 467? cores does that mean that all the cores have not been used yet. Since Ichika was given a new personal IS from th government, they must be holding on to all of them. Or is it just that they reuse the cores to make a new IS, like Ichika's sister doesn't pilot IS anymore so they could take her core to make a new IS for Ichika? I like that they said it was data collection, that makes sense since he's the only male that can use it. Since not everyone has a personal IS, do the training IS still have a core, because i would think then that the School has a lot of the 467 cores.

So Ichika won and loss at the same time. I guess he didn't even know that he was making that kind of an attack. So did i hear right that his weapon is the same that his sister used?

What did Ichika mean when he said he was grateful to Houki's aunt. Is she the one that taught them kendo?

Houki grew on me, i actually enjoyed her arguing with herself. Also i liked how she got defenseless on teaching Ichika. The end was nice as well.

So Cecilia has joined the harem. Didn't take much for her to change.

So next week the Chinese girl is actually another childhood friend. Houki's competition is getting larger by each ep

It was stated that Shinonono Tabane made only 467 IS cores and not anymore or less than that number. It made me curious as to why she chose that number, so I did a little (very little) research. Apparently, 467 is a prime number, but it is also an Einstein prime. Interesting that it is related to arguably the most influential scientist in modern history.

I am going to agree with Skyfall concerning the IS core design. I bet the good old mad scientist intentionally made it so that Ichika is the only male who can pilot it. It probably has some sort of DNA analysis, which excludes any other male. She might have intentionally excluded males because we tend to make war weapons out of technology.

Having females used it has led to non-wars in that world, apparently. That said, the fact that a male, Ichika, now possesses one, it probably mean it is time for war to start.

Also, I am going to brush Cecilia's sudden change of heart due to the fact that she probably has been going to all female schools most of life, and now, it was the first time meeting such a garrrr guy.

As for the preview, it stated that Rinin (Chinese girl) would eventually face Ichika during the Inter-class tournament, since she is her class representative. Doe this mean that Ichika becomes the class representative somehow, even though he lost?

I can't help but feel that Ichika should have won that fight if he took another person to be his tutor. He might have been informed about shield nullifying attacks instead of wasting time practicing kendo. Damn Houki using her sister's reputation even after saying she doesn't want anything to do with her

I'm not sure Houki or anyone else would know about Ichika's IS' special trait either, except for the higher up (his sister, or the teachers). It was made specifically for him after all.

If you read her back story, the reason is clearer, and kinda make sense.

I'm pretty sure that she was in episode 1 aswell - when a bunch of girls were asking Ichika if he'd mind if they sat down with him when he was having dinner with Houki. I remember the scene because I found her "yosh" and arm bump so cute when he said it was fine.

I just watched episode 2 and it's really enjoyable. I like episode 1 but the fight scene in episode 2 doesn't feel rushed or short for me. It's fine overall and the animation isn't that shabby. It looks like his weapon is a personal made too for him being the only male in the world.

If the setting that the girls having the power wouldn't lead into war. I couldn't agree more from the feeling on the classroom. They look too me just enjoying the spring time of youth. Talking about boyfriend girl friend in that time. Really different from the boys perspective.

It looks like Ichika is doing a speech in the middle of the fight too. A good gar lead needs a brilliant speech in the middle of beam spam but he still needs to learn more. I like index trash talk and preach than his protecting his sister pride. Though it's different and had different impact than the others.

It's really awesome totally loving this season.

Hmmm, looks like they skipped over Cecilia back story or something, no matter I guess- Looks like they're all chummy in the next episode already.
