Just to make something clear... since a season can (easily) be defined... there is no such thing as an opinion on what a season is...

Also... anime IS TV!!! And it IS shown in repeats. While not in Japan maybe, but when it gets to America or Europe you bet your ass it will have rerun after rerun.

And just to close up... this is so damned funny

In Japan, they don't show the episodes 5 days a week ussually. And while a Japanese broadcast season can probably be defined as 13 weeks for anime, the American broadcast season is longer, typically 7-8 months with the first episode staring in september and then running to march with the rest of the year devoted to reruns.

Certainly, I don't think anyone disputes that FMA ran 4 broadcast seasons, but is that considered 4 seasons and if hypothetically they made 13 more episodes and airred them in the winter broadcast season, would that be considered Fullmetal Alchemist 2, or Fullmetal Alchemist 5?

From dictionary.com, a season can also mean "A period of time," so it doesn't have to be exactly 13 weeks, or spring, summer, fall, and winter.

Sports like baseball, football, and basketball all last more than 13 weeks and they're still called a season. Most US tv series like Friends, Smallville, etc., they last more than 13 episodes/weeks per season. So in sports and tv term, a season is like within a 1 year time frame.

It would be known as fullmetal alchemist.
The name doesn't have to change because of the season.
And while a season has various defenitions depending on where it is used, the discusion was only on the anime season was it not?

OMG, why can't everyone just get along and callm down. This thread was about the Mitchell dude thinking that there may be a second season, and unless this thread is old (which I doubt), OBVIOUSLY, he's saying that theres gonna be a second season of FMA (in other words, something like Full Metal Panic where there is FMP 1 and then it comes out as FMP 2). This thread could simply be answered quickly and ended, there is no need for such disputes.

As far as I know there are no plans for a fma2. There is however a movie underway which is scheduled for 2005.

man this thread almost gave me a heart attack...i thought this was a formal announcement of the 2nd series lol.

Well to answer your question, FMA "2" is really a movie that will be release....I think it will be more of a closure than a continuation of FMA.

a 2nd season would be cool but it is unlikely to occur.

Question Another FMA movie?

Has the possibility of another Fullmetal Alchemist movie been mentioned as of yet?
