That's why I wasn't a big fan of parts of the manga, too. I greatly preferred the storylines of the SAC series. The SAC movie was okay. Quote:
This is my favorite outfit for her in SAC: Spoiler for image size:
Incidentally, I also have that figure. Love it.

The Youtube link that's live appear to be region locked. This is troublesome as then it is questionable if this is actually a world première or not, if there is no legit way to watch the event broadcast.
Now I question the region status of the Nico Broadcast too.

I'm wondering...if this series will become a prequel or sequel, either straight from SAC or puppet master time
But from flashback at SAC even the design is similar when she is at the army..even though this doesn't discount the possibility of even further back prequel. The other possibility is after puppet master, for those that read the manga I'm sure know of the situation, thus the possibility of having such design is possible |

Main cast for GiTS: Arise:
Maaya Sakamoto as Motoko Kusanagi Kenichirou Matsuda as Batou Tarusuke Shingaki as Togusa Tomoyuki Dan as Ishikawa Nakakuni Takuro as Saito Yoji Ueda as Paz Kazuya Nakai as Borma Ikkyu Jyuku as Daisuke Aramaki I agree with fanyard that Arise is a prequel...set in the year 2027. More likely ties in with Stand Alone Complex? Maaya Sakamoto made an appearance during the preview to talk more about her role.

Whoa whoa, a whole new voice cast? :/ Do not like. And Sakamoto Maaya? I love her to bits but I'm not sure she's the right person for this role.
Well, if you needed any more proof that this project is completely independent from the other GITS series/films... |

The PV looks okay and the visuals are pretty good even though it's gonna be a prequel that was completely independant from the other GiTS projects. The opening theme looks so-so however, and I was a bit dissapointed it's going to be a 4-part movie series. I'm going to try the first episode to see if it's better than expected, but given how horrible the Shin Kyoto arc of Kenshin received despite liking it for visuals and the fact that it's one of the few old-school shows these days to make an anime comeback, I'm not gonna hold my breath.
