Wouldn't that also mean he didn't really achieve Bankai, but rather literally compressed his Shikai power?

well if his sword is flaming , than he just became like his father as of right now but we will see next chapter. the chapter wasn't bad to me at all.

He was the embodiment of Ichigo's Quincy powers, I guess. He was there to try and suppress Ichigo's Shinigami and Hollow powers.

-So after all this time, Ichigo's sword evolution will be a lightsaber named Zangetsu? Sure...sure why not. Though it sucks how Old Man Zangetsu is now gone. Shame. I really liked having him around. My only hope is that since Kubo seems to be telling us that Ichigo's Hollow is his actual zanpakuto, his bankai involves turning into that Hollow form he used against Ulquiorra. That form just looked badass.

That's an interesting idea, btw. Since everyone was saying that "bankai can't be that small", back then.

But would that make his "Bankai" stealable? Or would hollow interfere?


Also, I do remember something from earlier chapters, during his training with Urahara, when the latter mentioned something along the lines of Ichigo being able to use only a small part of his power. Can't find where it was.

Would have been better if the old man aided Ichigo instead of just disappearing... Maybe we will see more of Ichigo using his Quincy power? It would be cool to see him using all three faction's signature styles/spells - Quincy's, Shinigami's, and Hollow's.

I would like to assume that is Ichigo's full power, merging his Quincy and Hollow powers together. But...yeah, lets see how this goes.

noo Damn you Kubo!! Not for the chapter itself.. it was pretty badass but we cut off just as we were going to see what the 'real' zangetsu looks like. I hate cliffhangers. Anyway I hope next chapter we don't cut to somewhere/someone else. I mean after that inner world conversation with Mini Juha it would be interesting to have Hollow Ichigo(or Shiro or Zangetsu or whatever you wanna call him) show up and exchange a few words with Ichigo. I can already picture what he's gonna say:
'' Hey partner! Long time no see! Good riddance to that old dude, he always acted like he had a huge quincy arrow up his ass! Let's celebrate by going out and painting the town red. BLOOD RED THAT IS HAHAHA!! ''

Am I the only one that feels like almost every week Kubo just decides he doesn't like the story he already made and retcons it to hell. So the whole Mugetsu thing that was so powerful that Aizen couldn't perceive it was weakened Ichigo and only part of his power? It is so stupid, if he didn't want Ichigo to be a shinigami, just don't tell him how to use his powers instead of telling him every single time. And why is it Zangetsu changes form when Ichigo uses Bankai if he isn't really Zangetsu

Is this Kubo's way of telling us that Ichigo is actually just God?

So in the end we didn't get a damn bit of an explanation to anything of the twist, lol. So I guess next chapter we'll meet the real Zangetsu or is Hichigo the real Zangetsu, I'm so confused.

I thinking the only reason they couldn't seal his bankai was because it was quincy and not a shinigami type or Zangetsu was blocking it with his quincy powers.

the fact that Ichigo wasn't using all his strength in his fights bother me a little.

so now the question if Ichigo gain his real Zangetsu, could the quincies seal his bankai now?
