He seems to of took it rather well. And if the last chapter is any indication, its that Kousei says while looking up at the sky and thinking of Kaori "I will live for the both of us."

Seems so. Really sad huh? The whole story about growth and they only played together the once. Excluding the little Kaori as a ghost bit. Its maybe the saddest thing in my opinion.

Sooo, she died...mehhh, expected, but the letter though, was really sad and a direct hit to him, saying your feelings in your death letter is kinda...shitty in some way to the one that get it, more when u want that person to move on having the dead one in mind.
The one thing that I dont know is if it he ends with Tsubaki or not

My own interpretation is that, quite simply; she had her reasons. She wanted to get close to Kousei from the start, but A. She was sick so she didn't want to get too close to him and then die like his mom (Kinda failed on that one Kao-Chan.) So when she said she liked Watari it created a sort of distance that was never really filled, since Kousei was always holding back saying over and over "The Girl My Friend Likes." and that distance probably did soften the blow when she died just a little bit. and B. The second reason she probably said she liked Watari was probably wouldn't get instant rejected in her dream. Imagine if she walked up to Kousei and started fangirling over his Pianist days? He'd reject her because he didn't want that at the time. Imagine if she confessed to him and then started badgering him to play Piano again? That'd probably hurt him. He already had that little "Is a pianist all I am" bit where he felt like his worth was entirely based on his piano skills. So that would be a no go. So? Kaori said she liked Watari, made her way into their group, ambushed Kousei multiple times under the pretense of "Friend A" and "Substitute" as the reason for her hanging around him and not Watari. And then as a member of the circle of friends she slowly started using peer pressure, and her own fervor, to try to get him to play piano again, in the form of a friend, in the form of the girl his friend liked, of the girl he liked but couldn't reach. In the end, Kaori wanted to live, she wanted the operation to succeed, and she probably wanted to play on stage together again and maybe even confess her feelings. But life didn't work out that way. Life actually didn't work out at all, since she died. So that's my own take on it.

Yeah. I agree.

Though, it seems there was a lot of lies in april. I was on a different forum and a Tsubaki shipper said that them being "like siblings" was the lie in April. It's not. Though, I'll admit I did finally catch up on the anime the other day, and watching it all at once does kinda have it play out as though the real story is Tsubaki falling for Kousei. Like, Kaori progressively gets less attention and development, and Tsubaki progressively gets more and every episode is her stepping a little more towards admitting she's in love with Kousei.

I don't really know how to explain it? It's just kind of funny seeing her development so forefront, when it got pushed into the back of my mind while reading it a single chapter at a time.

There were plenty of lies. Kaori was obviously never as strong as she appeared to be, and yes, it's pretty clear she was interested in Kousei from the beginning, and not Watari. Everyone noticed it.

Turns out she was always near him but she was never brave enough to befriend him because his relationship with the other two was just too good and she doesn't want to intrude upon them.It turns out she lied about liking the football guy because since she knew she probably doesn't have long to live,she wants to do whatever she wants regardless of the consequences.Fate brought her to the MC because of this however.

Finally last chapter. Well, we know that Kaori's death is something inevitable.
Decent ending, I suppose but a time skip arc would be nice, just a wishful thought.

I would be disgusted if Kousei rebounded with Tsubaki though. She has zero interest in music, and she has shown to be incredibly petty just because she is afraid of Kousei moving away from her.
