My Otome Zwei licensed by Bandai Entertainment

Bandai Entertainment have announced the license for My Otome Zwei at Otakon 2007. See ANN for more details.

Feel free to discuss the topic in this thread. And as usual, any discussion about where to download the My Otome Zwei OVAs are no longer allowed.

I was expecting they might wait to see how the sales of the Mai Otome TV series went before licencing this, but it's nice to hear that this will get a US release. It would be even nicer if they just released it as a 4-episode, 2-DVD set, instead of dragging it our for four, overpriced singles like the Japanese release.

Could you provide a link where this was reported, it's unusual for Bandai Entertainment to do this, I would more believe it if it was Bandai Visual USA but they dont have it, Bandai Entertainment does. Couldn't find anything on ANN or AoD that it was planned for a 4 DVD release.

I don't think it was reported as such, was it? I figured mdauben was just speculating what the North American release would be like.

That said, I really hope it's all in one set, myself. Mimicking the one-episode-per-disc of the Japanese release would be crazy, unless they too included some nifty extras like figurines and such (and even then, it'd be a stretch).

Maybe if each episode of the OVA were longer and paced better, then I could even live with two seperate releases with two episodes each. But since it's more-or-less a four episode extra arc of MO, one release with all four episodes is the way to go!

(really, I'm still just bitter that episode 3 was taken over by fanserviceorama )

It wasn't reported anywhere, I was just saying.

The Japanese releases are one episode per (expensive) DVD. I don't know how Bandai plans to release it, but I was just saying that I hope it is in a more reasonable (all-in-one?) package than the Japanese release.

Aren't you coming back as Akane again? They don't tell you anything?

Regardless of what my level of knowledge may be, I wouldn't be at liberty to say anything, since every series contract has a clause saying those involved can't disclose info about it. So whether or not I know anything about Zwei, I'd have to pull a Mikuru and say, "It's classified! "

Oh! Okay, I get it. I always wondered how that worked.

Oh God. Funimation is gonna dub the theme songs in Baldr Force. That's gonna make me puke.
