Yeah, that was one big bang.

And now you're calling in the best for that? ARE YOU TRYING TO KILL ME?!?!?!
Yes, he is trying to kill you and once you’re dead and buried the thread will be his to rule as a Tyrant! Yes I’ve uncovered your dastardly plan Aaron!
Also some boring Background fluff nonsense while I continue working (SLLLLOOOWWWLLLYYY) on the next bit of my story (I may even end up holding off on the last of it for now and jump ahead to the modern day not sure yet):
TK's Crap: Characters:
Spoiler for Garm Team:
This info pertains to these OC just before and after the end of StrikerS Garm Team:
The Garm team is a semi-independent mercenary unit under contract to the TSAB to replace some of the recent losses inflicted in various relic related incidents. They tend to specialize in investigations and covert operations on non-administered worlds… (harder for people on those to sue) Their job description is similar to enforcers in many ways though they rarely operate alone.
They’ve been kept away from and minimally involved with the relic incidents, since so many of the TSAB’s top tier players and larger amounts of resources are already involved in said incidents; because of that though other more mundane problems have begun to get out of hand in certain areas. The world doesn’t stop just because one nutter with a god complex enters the scene after all. Garm has spent most of it’s time off world doing grunt work like busting up smuggling operations and pirates, handling more mundane Lost Logia, and serving high risk warrants and such.
Basiclly maintaining order and keeping things from falling apart while all the big shots play at being heroes.
Current Roster: Team Leader: Tony “Cipher” Jones
-Ranged Specialist, good at making people and stuff disappear, in a very spectacular way. 2IC: Harry “Solo Wing Pixy” Folk
-CC Specialist Cipher’s number two, makes sure no one gets close while the above is laying the smack down, also likes to occasionally dice some baddies himself. Number 3: Felix “I don’t need no damn nickname” Munro
-Also a Ranged Specialist and also good at making stuff disappear but in a slightly less spectacular way then Cipher. Number 4: Alan “Shorty” Aiken
-Another Close Combat type, also tasked with keeping stuff away from his flight lead, not quite as good at chopping stuff up on his own though. Unofficial Number 5: Atuwe “Paperboy” Bilford
-Not technically listed but at this point coerced into operating with them so much he might as well be. Rarely acutally takes the field instead normally functioning mostly in operating sensors, monitoring friendly and possibly enemy comms, and such. Is more active outside of battle often handling intelligence gathering be it good old fashion breaking and entering or more modern methods such as hacking into databases.
Tony Estrada (See Profile)
Name: Harry Folk Other names/alias: Garm-2, Solo-Wing Pixy Age: 37 Birthday: June 15 Height: 5’10 Weight: 165 Pounds Eye color: Green Hair color: Dusty Blond Origin: Administered World 167 Mage Rank: S Magic Type: Belka Magic Color: Red Element Preference: none Affiliation: Independent Mercenary, currently under a fairly long term contract to the TSAB. Position/rank in TSAB: Ciphers 2IC is afforded respect somewhere around that of a Lieutenant Team Position: 2IC and close combat specialist
Device: Name: Morgan Type: Armed Appearance: Stored: A small switch blade (and totally usable as a weapon in said form) Active: A fairly simple longsword with a white blade and a red hilt with a pair of upward slanted cross guards. Cartages are contained in two extensions jutting up a few inches from the hilt onto the flats of the blade and eject downward from the pummel after use. Modes:
Only the above, once active the sword is the only form it takes. Personality:
Pixy is an often jovial likeable sort of fellow that can crack jokes and see the lighter side of situations; he’s also a hardened killer unrepentant of his sometimes gruesome profession or most of his past. He’d buy you a drink at a bar and then try and kill you the next day if he happened to encounter on the wrong side of a battle, and if you and him both survived and met up back at the bar later he’d buy you another drink.
Wised to the sometimes less pleasant side of world, but not quite broken by it he knows how things often are but can still be optimistic about what the future might hold. This wasn’t always the case and it took a beating and a near death experience to reach this level of enlightenment, but hey no pain no gain right? Overall he tends to view his life now as a second chance and attempts to live it well and thoroughly. Some might ask why he then keeps venturing onto the battlefield, but it’s quite simple though really. Life just isn’t worth living if it’s boring.
Pixy isn’t as optimistic as Cipher often is nor as cynical as Felix and serves as something a mediator between them able to see an interact with both men’s point of view while still keeping his own. He’s extremely loyal to both as well and will assist either in an instant if the need is truly great, no matter the consequences. Still his loyalty to Cipher is foremost and he won’t argue with or questions the man’s decisions once they’re well and truly made.
Felix Munro:

Alan Aiken:

Name: Atuwe Bilford Other names/alias: Pixy has taken to calling him Paperboy Age: 28 Birthday: March 16 Height: 5’ 8” Weight: 150 Eye color: Brown Hair color: Black Origin: 75th Administered world Mage Rank: C+ Magic Type: Mid-Childa Magic Color: Yellow Element Preference: none. Affiliation: Independent, but heavily involved in the Garm teams operations. Position/rank in TSAB: None
History and Personality:
Atuwe has always had an intense interest about but only middling skill in magic, too weak to easily gain entry into the TSAB and discouraged to do so by his wealthy parents in any case he mostly trained himself while doing allot of research and writing on magic news, history, and use. Most of it contained on a website he’s maintained since his late teens which today is a widely visited and known site for various topics about magic it has a small volunteer staff, forums, and also houses his own blog (now the biggest draw to the site).
It was through that site be became involved with Felix and intern the Garm team, Atuwe came from a wealthy family and his parents and such were quite willing to support his hobbies and such. Said hobbies included traveling to all manners of planets for research, interviews, etc. It was on one of these trips he heard of a supposedly skilled local mage working freelance, bored and on a whim he decided to seek him out and see if he could get an interview. He did, and during it he learned about Felix’s association with several other mages of note in a war that occurred a number of years ago out on the fringe, intrigued he descended deeper and was soon snared into the teams twisted web.
During his various travels he’s made allot of contacts and gotten quite good at conducting research as well, and his family itself has more contacts still. This proved useful and Garm soon began duping him into conducting research and investigations for them (an area most of the team was less then skilled in). Before he knew it he was spending as much time hoping around from planet to planet helping them in investigations as he was doing anything else, but on the plus side it provided some damn good content for his site… and it was pretty cool, even if he’d never admit it openly.
He personality tends toward the low key, he’s an observer most of all as he watches and hears everything around him, and he has a stellar memory. He rarely stands out in a crowd and the most offensive he’ll normally get is dry sarcasm, it’s very rare for him to get out and out angry, and even then he prefers sarcasm to screaming.
Skills:
As he lacked raw magical talent Atuwe has sought to use what he has to the maximum, part of this involves fairly intense training and study, but another way he dose this is focusing on often neglected areas, after all if you’re the only one doing something you’re automatically the best at it… One area in which he excels is in the manipulation of electronics with magic his writings and activities in this area are acutally regarded by some as ground breaking.
By having an intense understanding of the way in which computers function it’s possible to use magic to manipulate them at so basic a level as make almost any system hackable. He isn’t dealing with code, or programs, he’s directly manipulating the electromagnetic fields that form the very basis of the computers operations, effectively bypassing all higher architecture and security measures. This is extremely computationally intensive though and only possible with the aid of a device with a very large amount of computing horsepower. The user provides the needed magical energy and directs the effort but the device is what translates his intentions into action at the microscopic level this kind of hacking functions at.
There is no real computational defense against this attack, since it rewrites the computers programming a level below even binary no software based defense would function and any hardware that relies on electromagnetic forces (pretty much all of it) is vulnerable. The only real defense is being totally off the net and behind heavy shielding (to prevent wireless accesses, as a rule of thumb if a low power radio wave can reach the inside of his intended target he can manipulate it), or spreading the data to multiple independent systems, though the later simply buys time by forcing the hacker to crack each in turn.
The best defense is another hacker, who can counter and scramble the attempts to manipulate the fields and rewrite any changes, but being a somewhat new field they’re a limited number of such people available and they tend to get snatched up by the highest priority targets, leaving most of the net near defenseless against this sort of attack. This makes it rather easy for someone with talent and some time to get allot of information, and of coruse this kind of thing is TOTALLY illegal to do on stuff you don’t own, but hackers don’t often care too much about such trite things as legality.
This skills use in battle varies wildly, devices aren’t based entirely on computational systems, the magical competent tends to render them largely immune to this effect, at least to a point, that said the more complex the device the more sustainable it becomes to manipulation. The problem is this kind of things requires intense focus, the user is often almost trance like while “diving” the target system, this is NOT a good position to be in when people are firing off energy beams and trying to stab you. Long Range attacks are only possible with something that can carry the energies used to the target, usually either some kind of cable or a very high powered wireless system, the former is clearly impossible and the later is problematic since the mage can easily just move behind stuff, or move out of the beam, or just move so much the beam can’t stay on target to begin with, etc, etc.
As such Atuwe normally steers clear of battle, but he has proven his worth as a controller and ease dropping tool. Another area he’s studied heavily is telepathy it’s a common skill, but one most reach a certain level in and then simply tend to ignore he’s mastered it to a considerable degree and can often reliably ease drop on enemy communication via it, further increasing his intelligence gather skills.
He also studies a number of stealth and evasion techniques and is rather fit and spry which makes him an excellent burglar as he’s recently discovered… He used to use them mostly to get photos of people that didn’t want their photo taken. (Not in a perverted way mind… usually)
He’s also a mean bookworm and he can plow through research materials to get at the important stuff damn fast, another task he often finds himself performing. At this point he’s pretty much the team’s defacto intelligence officer.

-24th In an incredible display of both extreme luck and skill SG-1 manages to not only escape but also free the captured prisoners and recruit a high ranking enemy officer to their side too boot! Early February:
-O’Neil is awarded the first of what will shortly become a chest full of medals.
-The SGC is official formed with the goal of locating technology and resources to defend the planet.
MC41 to MC43:
-Various teams continue to go off world more tech is recovered and magic users begin to multiply while the initial ones are now becoming seriously effective combatants. Several invasion attempts and too many near disasters with Lost Logia type artifacts to count are narrowly averted.
MC43:
Another invasion attempt seems imminent but rumors are spreading about a growing power out beyond the fringes of currently known space that might be able to offer protection. This group turns out to be the TSAB. As expected SG-1 is the first to contact them, largely by accident, and returns just in the nick of time with a small TSAB fleet that scares off the Goa'uld after a short battle. The fight occurs in low orbit though and is rather spectacular, the cats out of the bag…
Mid MC43:
Forced to chose between mind controlling aliens or membership in the loose federation that is the TSAB This Earth chooses the later and becomes the new fringe of TSAB administered space… well a pocket of it anyway as the TSAB proper is rather far off with a large uncontrolled area between them.
A small fleet is stationed their, but most of the planets armies remain unchanged, the handful of magic users already present are commissioned into the TSAB, but remain on the planet effectively forming a new division, due to his ability and experience Jack is accepted straight to captain rank, though he continues to function with SG-1 as a small recon and covert ops team leader. At the same time more large scale open magic training and technological research begins as well.
This hardly marks the end of the planets problems they merely enter a news phase… MC43 to 53:
Still nearly surrounded by enemies the newly formed TSAB Defense Forces are forced to whether sieges, sneak attacks, spies, and all other manner of attacks. This Earth begins to resemble a fortress world as its garrison bloats and orbital defenses begin to ring the planet... By the middle of this period offensive operations using the increasingly fortified Earth as a base begin to be launched against surrounding areas. Earth also gains a reputation for producing highly effective, if often somewhat crude and blood thirsty, combat mages. More often then not SG-1 is responsible for both starting and fixing many of these various messes and also single handedly brings about the downfall of numerous enemy leaders and groups earning promotions, medals, and quite a bit of fame along the way.
The region also becomes noted for it’s expertise in bomb making and other mass based weapons, something its distance from the TSAB proper and constant threats from outside allows and encourages too flourish.
Its Mark.9 Gatebuster for instance is widely regarded as the most powerful bomb ever fielded by a TSAB member… Not surprising since the design goal was vaporization of anything within 100 miles of the weapon via sheer brute force. (It’s rumored a fair number are still maintained in secret as insurance weapons since being mass based many magic defenses that could resist even Arc-en-ciel fire would be useless against them.)
MC53 to 63:
Earths expanding local fleet supplemented by additional TSAB ships and newly recruited local allies begins to seriously damage the system lord’s empires. By the end of this period the System lords are basiclly broken and reduced to a minor irritant that engages in occasional guerilla style raids, but no longer really controls space. The entire area is now effectively TSAB space with Earth as its local capital. The region is increasingly integrated into the TSAB and is now a major supplier of ship and combat troops among other things.
MC63-70:
With his home effectively secured and now ranked as a full Colonel O’Neil and most of the troops he’d been with for the previous 20 odd years transfer into the Special Operations branch of the TSAB Air Force where they excel at completing missions and just as often mortifying the locals with their rather militant ways. The lot of them quickly gain a rep as “backward barbarians from the fringe” and such, something they acutally take a perverse pride in.
MC70-75:
Promoted into the General ranks O’Neil assumes command of the Mercenary and Special Operations branch. He maintains his reputation for eccentricity and… directness, and also gains further notoriety as a protector and proponent of often unconventional units and technology.
Notes on this:
he crashed ship was an ancient cargo vessel that had apparently been trying to leave with the gate following the revolt against the Goa’uld when it lost power and made a rather bad emergency landing. Logs indicate the crew apparently gated out and planned to return but that the ship ended up buried in an avalanche that blocked the gate. It’s probably about between 2,000 and 3,000 years old and is in no way special and was in fact totally obsolete centuries ago. It appears the reason its library was so large is that it was apparently also trying to escape with a fair bit of collected knowledge as well.
The star gates were built by a small lower tech faction of the ancient but now extinct race responsible for most Lost Logia, but they covered a much smaller area in this timeline with perhaps a few thousand worlds in one section of a galaxy connected to them.
The system lords were not nearly as large as they were in SG canon; the term “system lord” was often quite literal many of them claimed only a single system as their primary domain with at best small outposts in others.
The Ancients were much like the canon ones interbreeding with primitive humans and spurring many myths and even some religions, but there was no ascension, the plague wiped them out totally in this timeline. All that ascension stuff always annoyed me and it would just open all kinds of crap in this universe I don’t want to deal with so it’s out.
The Goa’uld where still a parasitic race, but they used magic to imitate godhood to their often barely medieval level peasant more then technology in this timeline. Higher level Jaffa also used magic, but to a much lesser degree as the Goa’uld feared rebellion if they came to realize they might potentially as much power as their “gods”.
All of this occurs on the fringes of TSAB space most of it before canon even begins so it should pose little problem in that regard, it was also fairly small scale for the most part. A few dozens ships on either side was a big battle for instance. It also adds a few planets and some back story on their entry into the TSAB and one method they used to expand their space (we’ll protect you from your enemies… If you join our government.)

Also some boring Background fluff nonsense while I continue working (SLLLLOOOWWWLLLYYY) on the next bit of my story (I may even end up holding off on the last of it for now and jump ahead to the modern day not sure yet):
Spoiler for LOTS of crap:
Number 5: Michael “Kid” Mitchell
-Rear-line Support Mage handles defensive augmentation, healing, and some detection and directions functions. Unofficial Number 6: Atuwe “Paperboy” Bilford
Name: Tony Jones Other names/alias: Garm-1, Cipher, “The Demon Lord of the Round Table.” Age: 35 Birthday: November 21 Height: 5’10 Weight: 160 Pounds Eye color: Brown Hair color: Brown Origin: Administered World 167 Mage Rank: SS- with no limiters, officially Restricted to AAA+ by limiters, but with Atuwe’s help he’s cracked these (a massively illegal thing to do) and can turn them off at a whim, though he isn’t going to bust them for no reason at all. Magic Type: Mid-Childa Magic Color: Blue Element Preference: none Affiliation: Independent Mercenary, currently under a fairly long term contract to the TSAB.
Position/rank in TSAB: A sort of warrant officer, above enlisted and below real officers, but that said it would take someone of at least Captains rank to have a chance of giving orders he might been inclined to follow even if he somewhat disagreed with them. Team Position: Team Leader/Ranged Specialist
Device: Name: Blue Eagle Type: Storage/Armed (Upgraded After the Pan-Usea war) Appearance: A spear topped with a somewhat oddly shaped head which varies its shape between modes. Modes: Standard: The default form when engaged it balances most of the devices traits and can do most things well, but nothing great. Strike: The heavy duty shooting form it unlocks Ciphers best ranged attacks and increases his shooting power at the expense of speed and maneuverability. The Spearhead bulks out in this form but remains roughly the same shape. Active: A third form it has reduced ranged potential but increases speed and maneuverability as well unlocking Ciphers handful of melee attacks. In this form the Spearhead grows several knife like protrusions from its sides and can project a series of energy blades that resemble a Yari from them and the tip.
Barrier Jacket:
A fairly plain white overcoat with blue highlights over top of a simple long sleeved shirt and pants that resemble slacks. This overall color scheme and clothing is maintained across all forms of his device though it dose bulks up a bit with bits of largely ornamental armor when Strike or Active mode is engaged.
Name: Harry Folk Other names/alias: Garm-2, Solo-Wing Pixy Age: 37 Birthday: June 15 Height: 5’10 Weight: 165 Pounds Eye color: Green Hair color: Dusty Blond Origin: Administered World 167 Mage Rank: S+, no limiters. Magic Type: Belka Magic Color: Red Element Preference: none Affiliation: Independent Mercenary, currently under a fairly long term contract to the TSAB. Position/rank in TSAB: Follows Cipher, end of story won’t take orders from anyone else for the most part. Team Position: 2IC and close combat specialist
Harry is a tad more pessimistic then Tony about life in general, he respects his skill but sometimes questions his sanity and apparent eagerness to charge in and help people without thinking about how they’re going to get paid for doing so. Don’t get him wrong, being a hero is great and all, but it doesn’t exactly put food on the table or pay for his not inconsequential bar tabs. Still he owes Tony his life lock, stock, and barrel and so follows him along in his sometimes harebrained schemes unswervingly.
They started out alone about 15 years ago, but have over time accumulated a fairly impressive mercenary company. Over the last decade and a half using their own growing clout and a string of lucrative missions they’ve managed to draw a number of top notch independents to their banner. Tony tends to handle the combat and leadership, but Harry is the undisputed brains of the operation filling out forms, securing needed supplies, and arranging transport among other things basiclly all the stuff that needs to be done but no one wants to do.

Age: 16

Origin: Mid-Childa
Mage Rank: A+ in various support spells much lower in combat skills, no limiters.

Magic Color: Aqua
Element Preference: Air
Affiliation: TSAB Ground Forces
Position/rank in TSAB: Sergeant
Team Position: Support Device:
Device name: Sea Breeze
Device type: Intelligent
Device appearance: A rather generic staff.
History Personality:
As a matter of practice the TSAB normally assigns an officer to any mercenary team in their employ for the purposes of oversight, another common practice is that said officer ought to be at least as strong as the strongest member of said team. Unfortunately recent events have resulted in something of a dearth of such officers, and this combined with Ciphers persuasiveness managed to allow Garm to wrangle a junior NCO as a “supervisor” That said supervisor was basiclly hand picked by Cipher merely added absurdity.
Michael is widely regarded as something of a discipline problem. Talented, but free spirited and less then enamored of some of the more martial aspects of the service he’s only just managed to avoid serious dispensary action several times in his short career. Just the kind of guy a bunch of mercenaries could keep around without having to beat him or pull out clumps of hair. Truth be told more then a few officers are pleased with this set up and crossing their fingers and hoping he’ll follow them out when their contacts end…
His personality is free wheeling and somewhat self severing, basiclly he wants have fun and most of his actives are aimed in that direction. He can be serious and he dose have some morals and
Michael is not a combat mage Garm already had a glut of those, instead he focus on support spells in a general capacity, though not the best at anything he proficient in a wide range of abilities both inside and out of combat.
Something of an idealist when in initially joined, but lacking Alan’s sheer thick headedness he’s increasingly being “brainwashed”(read bullied) into condoning and even partaking in the teams sometimes only vaguely legal never mind moral schemes. Alan and some shred of decency have kept him from fully succumbing, but he’s seen the dark side and realized you know it dose have its perks… He’s also still fairly loyal to the TSAB and dose point out and put his foot down when the team is REALLY treading the line. (or getting ready to jump over it screaming and naked for that matter)

Magic Type: Mid-Childa
Magic Color: Green
Element Preference: none
Afflation: Independent freelancer currently under a fairly one sided contract with the TSAB.
Position/rank in TSAB: No official rank but as with the others he’s officially a quasi officer not obligated to take orders from most enlisted, but not authorized to give them either in most cases. He is technically supposed to listen to orders from any actual TSAB officer, but the chances of him taking orders he doesn’t like from anyone under 30 or the rank of Captain are fleetingly small. Device:
Device name: Murru
Device type: Intelligent Device fitted with a cartridge system.
Appearances and overviews:
Storage: A spiffy sand colored beret, very stylish and color coordinated with his current uniform.
Standard Mode:

The devices default form on activation it’s well balanced with the obvious caveat of being a nearly useless close combat weapon. Most of his spells are available in this mode, though a good number are weaker then in…
Assault Form:
The devices second and final form in this mode Felix gains access to the few spells he can’t use in standard form, and most of his others gain a power boosts at the expense of speed and increased energy demands. The weapon is also somewhat bigger and though still a terrible close combat weapon it’s long enough to kind of use as a club…
Personality: A stereotypic (more like racist) Australian male, watching all those croc hunter reruns the night before activating the thing might not have been such a great idea… Also extremely found of the word “crikey”, and using Beauty as a noun while constantly referring to Felix as “Bruce.” The first year with the thing was pure hell, the next 20 or so were more like purgatory, actively unpleasant, but not quite torture.
Barrier Jacket: Standard: A fairly innocuous brown trench coat that falls to the ankles, acutally plain enough to be reasonably worn on the street without looking like a total dink. As long as you keep it drawn… since underneath is a khaki shirt and a par of matching short-shorts. This might be somewhat appealing on a female, but Felix’s legs are not really something you want to be looking at for any length of time, seeing as he adamantly refuses to shave, or even really groom them. Assault: The outer jacket is maintained but armored grieves, shin guards, and a vest with shoulder extensions are added, and the shorts also become pants resorting most of his dignity. Protection is increased but overall speed is decreased.
Spells: Defensive: Protection: Your bog standard auto-guard simple, effective, timeless. Reinforced Protection: Mark II 360 energy bubble, again nothing fancy. Round Shield: Gee I wonder what this dose… Countermeasures: A sort of magical chaffit spits out a number of small short ranged magical projectiles that detonate in the path of pursuing homing projectile and tend to foul their guidance and movement abilities making evasion or interception easier.
Movement Powers: Flight: This is ridiculously obvious, but he is a rather good flier with considerable practical experience in aerial combat with other magic users. He flies via simple gravity manipulation and has no wings or anything. Burner Rush: A bog standard movement power, turn it on and move faster over a short distance not much else say.
Mics: Restrain Lock: Bog standard binding spell attempts to immobilize the arms and legs at the wrists and ankles respectively. Damper Field: A ranged field spell that messes with gravity manipulation in the target area, it makes flying and moving at speed for most mages in that zone considerably harder, but has little other effect. Someone running through it wouldn’t even notice a difference for instance, and it also doesn’t effect teleporting in anyway. As another added drawback if effects EVERYTHING in it, including the caster if he strays inside, the area effected is fairly large, but not huge. Due to the self effects, the high amount of energy needed to hold it, and somewhat limited range it’s normally used only in short bursts to hinder movement or allow for closer or evasion.
Offensive: SR Magic Missile, MR Magic Missile, LR Magic Missile: All are effectively the same spell but with escalating range and accuracy and proportionally decreasing power and numbers with the pre-fix letters denoting Short, Medium, and Long Range variations. Often abbreviated simply to SRMM, etc pretty much just a minor variant of the shooting spells most ranged oriented mages utilize. SRMM are launched in packs of 10 to 12, MRMMs 6 to 8, and LRMM in groups of 4 or 5. Rapid Fire: A stream of unguided and weak magic bullets mostly used to harass and disrupt casting or as a defensive spell against incoming fire. Range on the bolts isn’t inherently poor, but accuracy is which restricts its use to short range for the most part. If the targets are quite weak though it can be used as a kind of long range shotgun to house an area with a rain of bolts and keep a targets head down. Assault Blast: Pretty much just a magic missile but only one bolt instead of several and with allot more striking power as a result, loading cartridges can increase its power fairly dramatically though until it approaches the level of things like Divine Buster (though only against one target). Without using cartridges though it’s a fairly standard middle of the road attack pretty good accuracy, pretty good power, pretty short casting time. Flak Shot: Similar to assault shot but instead of relying on a direct impact upon getting near the target it can explode bombarding them and a fair sized area with a spray of magic “shrapnel”. It can also be set to impact and explode directly on a target, in which case it dose only a bit less damage then Assault Blast but also still has a limited notable AOE competent. In either case it takes more power to cast and isn’t quite as accurate, it normally uses a single cartridge, though as with Assault Blast several can be loaded to scale up it’s power. Shield Breaker: A surprisingly innocuous looking upper tier attack it consumes several cartridges and yet produces a beam superficially similar to those many mages pump out in machine gun like fashion. That’s acutally part of what makes it so dangerous… it doesn’t look that dangerous. Underestimating it is a mistake that has cost many their lives, the beam might not look that powerful or be all that spectacular, but its penetrating power is extreme. It pierces all but the strongest shields like they aren’t their and a Barrier Jacket is child’s play and once you’re past those… well even a wound just a couple inches across through you’re torso tends to be quite fatal. The beam sadly has no real tracking capabilities, but is very fast and difficult to avoid if the shot is well aimed.
This can also only be used in assault form. Maser Breaker:
Felix’s ultimate “f*** off” attack like various other sorts of “breaker” spells it’s a collection type that involves harvesting residual magical energy into one hell of an energy blast. It also takes about 2 weeks to cast, well not really but it can feel like it in the middle of a battle.
As an alterative to the above he can like some other mages also load a rather ludicrous number of cartridges to gain much the same effect faster though he’s reluctant to do that since as he puts it. “Okay think of the worst hangover you’ve ever had, you got it? Okay now imagine it’s twice as bad and it lasts like half a week.”
This spell can only be performed while his device is in Assault form.
Name: Alan Aiken Other names/alias: Well Felix has taken to calling him Shorty… Age: 17 Birthday: June 15 Height: 5’ Weight: 125 Pounds Eye color: Blue Hair color: Dusty Blond Origin: Administered World 167 Mage Rank: AA+ no limiters. Magic Type: Neo-Belka Magic Color: Red Element Preference: Fire Affiliation: Independent, but currently under contract with the TSAB via Felix. Device: Device name: Jägersmann Device type: Armed Device appearances and overview: Normal: Classic Halberd small axe blade up front, hooked spike on the back, and a spear point on top fairly plain shaft faux wood staff, cartridges are stored in the shaft just behind the head. This mode is the most common and best balanced and is the most used. Axe Form: Not hard to figure out the Axe portion enlarges (to a nearly comical degree) at the expense of the other elements, its striking power and damage is increased but it becomes rather unwieldy and much slower. Spear Form: The axe and spike effectively vanish becoming little more then ornamental bits at the base of the spear point which extends considerably into a fairly wicked point. Raw power is reduced considerably but speed and precision is increased greatly and penetration through fields and armor is still quite good, but grace and careful placement of blows is required to exploit this due to the lack of raw damage… needless to saw this is Jägersmann’s least used mode.
Name: Atuwe Bilford Other names/alias: Pixy has taken to calling him Paperboy Age: 28
Birthday: March 16
Height: 5’ 8”
Weight: 150
Eye color: Brown
Hair color: Black Origin: 75th Administered world Mage Rank: C+
Magic Type: Mid-Childa
Magic Color: Yellow
Element Preference: none.

Pan-Usea war timeline:
March MC 37:
-Radical ultra nationalists seize control of the government of one of the planetary super powers, declaring it the Neo-Belkan Front and following a radical (and fairly violent) offshoot of that widespread religion.
-The coup is widely condemned by the local government and the official Belkan church renounces any ties to the group. MC 37-Early MC 39:
-The NBF becomes increasing belligerent and steps up rhetoric calling for the planets unification, under its terms and rule of coruse.
-Large scale military build up by the NBF and importation of off world technology is confirmed by various intelligence agencies, an arms race begins in earnest.
-Mercenaries of various types smelling possible profits begin to flood the region mostly as “Advisors” and “Training officers” at first for the rapidly expanding forces of mages employed by all sides. Late MC 39:
-The NBF begins making various rather outlandish accusations against its neighbors of various plots and infractions against them.
-In November following a minor skirmish between air forces near the NBF border said nation begins large scale troop’s movement toward the border regions. Frantic negotiations begin while militaries planet wide go on alert.
-Late December, it seems that a war will be averted as the Sapin government agrees to take the blame for the incident and try the pilots involved on war crimes.
-The NBF begins to withdraw its “troops” from the borders and most militaries stand down no longer expecting an imminent attack. MC 40: January:
-New Years day, emerging from unknown and well camouflaged rallying points near the border dozens of real Belkan divisions blitz into 5 surrounding counties catching them nearly totally by surprise as they celebrate New Years.
-Simultaneously the Belkan air force launches a massive first strike that destroys scores of enemy craft and kills many mages on the ground and unaware.
-Most of the continent quickly declares war on the NBF.
-Despite surprise and deep penetrations Osea manages to largely halt the NBF advance after about 2 weeks of heavy fighting.
-Others fare much worse as the Blitz nearly entirely overruns Sapin and the breakaway nation of Ustio pushing them both back into small bastions in their southern mountain ranges, Minar being a nearly open plain from the border to the sea and isolated from the other powers by the Blitz into Sapin doesn’t fair even that well and is almost entirely absorbed within 2 weeks with only some of it’s air force and naval managing to flee the nation and keep fighting
-The first major contested air battle is fought over the fleeing Minar forces. One of the largest battles in recent TSAB records it’s estimated as many as a thousand mages and just as many aircraft were involved. Casualties were massive as well with estimates of as many as 5,000 dead and wounded. The NBF emerges somewhat the victor but still shy‘s away from large engagements like this for several weeks. The battle also the reputation of several aces and squadrons though… Including Garm who earn their nickname of “Hellhounds” following the battle.
-This is also Pixy’s first major engagement and where he earns his nickname by continuing to fight and down several skilled enemy fighters despite having lost his entire wing early in the battle. He reinforces this by continuing to fly alone for sometime afterwards.
This is all a work in progress but all future updates will be made to this post.
Impressive profiles you've garnered here for Garm team, and a group of guns for hire to boot
Although THREE S over rank mages?!?!?!?! The fact that they can just illegally bypass their limiters (or in Fenix's case, none at all) is
Of all the profiles though, I'm most intrigued at Atuwe's hacking abilities... control the most BASIC element of computers, the electricity that flows through them? Holy... I'd kill just to have that kind of power Not even my Kaylin and her AI's can do that
Though the very fact that he got "recruited" is still a LOL-worthy tidbit

Spoiler for LOTS of crap:
Number 5: Michael “Kid” Mitchell
-Rear-line Support Mage handles defensive augmentation, healing, and some detection and directions functions. Unofficial Number 6: Atuwe “Paperboy” Bilford

Age: 16

Hair color: Blond

Origin: Administered World 167
Mage Rank: S, no limiters, (threw his testing to make his level appear around AAA to avoid limiters.)

Bonus crap:

Impressive profiles you've garnered here for Garm team, and a group of guns for hire to boot
Although THREE S over rank mages?!?!?!?! The fact that they can just illegally bypass their limiters (or in Fenix's case, none at all) is
Acutally I think I left off a Minus sign on Felix, he really right at the border between –S and +AAA but if he pushed into the S range he’d have been limited so he threw the test little. Wouldn’t have mattered much but it would be a pain in the ass.
As for Cipher and Pixy they’re are supposed to be badasses basiclly, but they’re also normal mages they won’t be pulling out any super powers or hidden talents or anything. The only “hax” they have is a large amount of baseline power. You also need to consider that those three guys are almost 40 in all cases and with considerable combat time; can you imagine what Nanoha or Fate will be like in another 20 years?
As for the limiters Pixy thinks they’re totall bullshit and Cipher likes them only slightly more, both of them believe in maximum force and aggression in battle and limiters fly in the face of that. When they found someone that could potentially bypass them… well illegal or not they didn’t much care as if they feel the need to go all out then they want to be able too.
The good thing is that it would very hard to prove they did this without someone testifying to it or them making a truly absurd display of power, and no one on the team would dare do the former so as long as they keep it on the down low and don’t abuse it they should be okay. If they just go around overriding them constantly though they risk getting caught so it’s still something of a trump card/dangerous move, but it’s one they can play at will without having to persuade some desk jockey to drop the things. That was my thinking anyway adds a bit of danger (risk of huge fines or even jail time) to them going all out.

Of all the profiles though, I'm most intrigued at Atuwe's hacking abilities... control the most BASIC element of computers, the electricity that flows through them? Holy... I'd kill just to have that kind of power Not even my Kaylin and her AI's can do that Though the very fact that he got "recruited" is still a LOL-worthy tidbit
It was inspired by a device in a the Culture Series of Sci-fi novels called an “effector” (I think that’s the spelling) anyway it’s basiclly an EM Swiss army knife it can manipulate EM fields at the most basic level it’s most common use is hacking computers as I described, but in that series it’s acutally so advanced that it can hack human brains, by manipulating the tiny electrical impulse between neurons. One of their AI could use one to make you dance a jig right off a cliff while punching yourself in the face in about .2 nanoseconds basiclly.
Not even said super AI can defend against it in any way expect having multiple redundant processors and partitions, but even that as said merely buys time (microseconds in this case). Obviously this is literally Hax on an almost god like level but I found the idea itself intriguing, “Technomancy” in various forms as it were is an oft neglected thing in many settings.
Still this process is SLOW, even with the massive computational power of a device it’s not even close to a culture mind and the process of manipulating that many variables is slow and tedious and can take hours of undisturbed work with complex code and systems. The device itself is also highly specialized too it, to the point of being nearly useless as an actual weapon. On the plus side though if they don’t have a counter hacker on hand even IF they see it happening they can’t normally do much about it expect perhaps being franticly wiping hardrives (and I mean WIPE WIPE not just delete stuff).
It’s user is also pretty much useless in a battle the forwards would stomp him easily for instance.

Also some boring Background fluff nonsense while I continue working (SLLLLOOOWWWLLLYYY) on the next bit of my story (I may even end up holding off on the last of it for now and jump ahead to the modern day not sure yet):
Spoiler for LOTS of crap:
Number 5: Michael “Kid” Mitchell
-Rear-line Support Mage handles defensive augmentation, healing, and some detection and directions functions. Unofficial Number 6: Atuwe “Paperboy” Bilford
Name: Michael Mitchell
Other names/alias: none of note, Felix, Pixy, and Cipher have a habit of calling him variations on newbie though.
Age: 16
Birthday: April 15th
Height: 5’11

Eye color: Brown
Hair color: Blond
Origin: Mid-Childa
Mage Rank: A+ in various support spells much lower in combat skills, no limiters.
Magic Type: Mid-Childa
Name: Felix Munro

Origin: Administered World 167
Mage Rank: S, no limiters, (threw his testing to make his level appear around AAA to avoid limiters.)

Bonus crap:
Half finished
THIS POST IS MADE OF EXTREME BLUECHEESIUM BADASSERY!

Where's the whole thing?
They aren't HARDCORE punisher level anti-heroes though, more like batman, they'll bend the rules maybe break a few, but in the end their hearts in the right place... (usually)
The profiles are for them as of MC 0075, the vets would have all been around 20 during the war.
Felix: You damn kids probably still think we're old though... 36 isn’t old dammit!
Atuwe: Calm down there grandpa.
Ah ok.
From the profiles, the first mention of Solo Wing Pixy is in MC 0040, and 75-40 = 35... Unless he was 2 when he first fought in a war...

Slip up I wrote that at 3AM in the morning. My brain hurt and my math has clearly suffered for it. I know I wanted them to be about 20 when it happened so I think somehow I ended up adding said 20 years to the proper date… Sleep deprivation dose weird things to your thought patterns. It should be 60, not 40 it was 15 years ago or they're abouts.
Long ago, I wanted to do an original mecha using my PS vector skills... alas, all of my designs are still in my still-busted Main PC, and I'm losing confidence in my own ability to design custom mechs
SO I went ahead and Frankened these two designs, which will be my new image of Linebacker's Humanoid Drive Ignition forms:
Spoiler for Full Drive Form:
Break Linebacker:
And its upgraded form, to appear in Crosys:
Spoiler for Over Drive Form:
Great Linebacker:
Nanoha is included for size comparison
