Steak and zombies make an awesome combination.

That thing on the right is my rigol DS1052E osciliscope

I have decided that I'm going to watch every episode with steak, this is my 2nd one.

Since I'm not allowed to say anything about the manga, I'll just say this:

I don't read mangas. Ever. But for Highschool of the Dead I couldn't wait to find out what happened so I started reading the manga, and in 2 days I had managed to read all 26 chapters even though I don't have any idea how one is supposed to read comic books right to left.

So then when I saw episode 3 the only thing going through my mind was HOW AWESOME IT WAS TO SEE WHAT I HAD READ IN BLACK-AND-WHITE COME TO LIFE IN ANIMATED FULL COLOR.

This show is going to be the death of me.

I would probably let the students following him get on it they wanted to, but I would not let Shido himself on the bus. Then again, I'd probably shoot him after he stomped on that student's face and try to shoot the zombies before they bite his unfortunate victim.

Well mandarin reads right to left, left to right and also vertical columns going right to left so it's only natural. I had trouble reading western comic left to right initially.

Everyone was probably too busy, you know, fighting zombies, running from zombies, and being eaten by zombies to notice.

As a long-time reader of the manga, its awesome to see the anime series get so much discussion and publicity.

Anyways, this series is off to a very strong start. Managed to keep the suspense, action, and thrills of the manga.

Hopefully this will entice you to check out other manga, too. While the HOTD manga is great, it is by no means the best that the world of manga has to offer. When I initially got into manga (many years ago

) I too was at first put off by the black and white drawings and the unusual (from western perspective) layout, but it's easy to get used to.

Was I the only one who thought of Michael Bay when the explosion occurred?

Anyways this show hasn't disappointed me yet. I'm curious since I haven't read the manga, are they still following the 1 episode per chapter thing or have they started skipping around? (Just trying to keep my hopes up for a second season

)

They have covered the first volume so far, which does contain three chapters, but it was not exactly one episode per chapter since the chapters are of uneven length. So far they have been sticking closely to the manga.

It's kind of odd, first episode was almost perfectly chapter 1 which was 70 pages, second episode only covered about 30 / 56 pages of chapter 2. With the 3rd episode covering what was left of chapter 2 and all of chapter 3 which was a more normal length chapter..
