Very much looking forward to this anime. Characters look so cute and PV song is fun too. I wonder if they use it as OP if I will ever manage to sing it properly. That "Yuriyurara" is a real tong twister .
I'm not familiar with the manga but based on the PV, I've a soft spot for Kyouko. She reminds me of Ana from Ichigo Mashimaro .

Another music video with the actresses appearing as they sing the theme song. I wonder how long it'll be before anyone forgets there's supposed to be an anime in here (and/or wishes for a live action version instead).

But yes, Kyouko ftw, she's like Konata of Lucky Star, or Yuno of Hidamari, might not be the favorite, but is the central figure of everything.

I understand what is simulcast, but what simulcast "in Crunchyroll status"?
Don't know much on Crunchyroll to say the truth, except: a) the membership allow you to watch the episode almost when it airs, otherwise you have to wait a week or two b) some anime is not available to you due to your country of resident, no matter what

So it has finally begun, my most anticipated summer 2011 series. I've read the manga and I must say that I highly enjoyed the parodies, self-irony and breaking-the-fourth-wall jokes.
First Impressions Spoiler for episode 01:
In any case I'm sure that Yuru Yuri will quickly become one of my favorite moe shows. I enjoyed the manga more than the K-On! anime, its humor is not inferior to other moe shows and its big plus is the yuri (sub-)text ~ yuriyurarararayuruyuri daijikeeen ~ Last edited by tezu; 2011-07-05 at 14:01. |

Yuruyuri 01 - L Channel
I can't tell if this or Morita will fill in the niche A Channel left behind, but any show that has "Yuri" in the name can't be such a bad thing. A cast full of newbies is pretty interesting too, though I recognize at least one of them from another place. (Rumi Ookubo, Chinatsu, is the voice of Ako in Suite Precure) Akari almost had a complete character arc in half an episode there. I'm curious as to what her idea for making herself stand out was. Her introduction in class was a good start, but not quite there. I like Kyoko already. Her not-very-subtextual-at-all affections are sweet, and her head is clearly in the clouds. Perfect. |
