I get the feeling that it'll come down to Ultra-rare trying to get him to save Cray, while Ren tries to use him to dominate it.

You lack the one other thing that is present in Vanguard. IMMMMMMMEEEEEEEEEJJJIIIII (or.... puts up hands and shapes them in the form of a rainbow: Imagination!)

Phantom Blaster Dragon is one of the overkills in Vanguard. Counterblast twice and double critical trigger.

Counterblasting twice could be difficult, since you have to retire three cards at the same time. (And you'll probably have retired other cards for other abilities while getting to grade 3...)
