To further explain a the bullet his powdered ribs, crafted to preserve his soul. He his very literally firing a piece of himself physically and meta-physically. Since it is in all sense of the word a piece of him, the bullet allows him to actualize his origin "severing and binding" within his target. Hollow-point bullet are not deadly because they can contain venom or other materials. They are deadly because they made of soft metal alloys and formed with a cavity, this allows the bullet mushrooms and expands upon impact; the result is serious internal damage, and often a very large exit wound.

Somewhat disappointed, 7/10.
The battle between the servants ends too easily and Strike Air is so poor in visual effect, also the blood rain... The explanation of Kirigutsu's Origin is not that bad actually, compared with how Kirei broke the tree. Very sexy hip and motion=w= |

Well the scene would have looked pretty silly for Kotomine to break free of the entrapment and then preceded to give some 2 min explaination of how he is a master in martial arts and something about power from the feet on the ground to the shoulder to the fist = explosion force to the tree.
Though i suppose the scene already looked silly to begin with anyway . |

if he actually used an origin bullet there he probably would have fried only a couple of kayneth's circuits, and not only would that kind of damage not be enough to defeat kayneth, it probably wouldn't have impaired him too much either, while at the same time, revealing him kiritsugu's trump card... and the woman is not Touko, it's Kiritsugu's mentor/teacher. As somebody else already mentioned, Touko should be about the same age or slightly younger than kiritsugu... gotta love kirei's efficiency, saber's coming, so what do i do to keep her from killing me? i wound her pseudo-master so that she has to choose between coming after me and letting her die, or saving her and letting me get away |

Nice teamwork by Lancer and Saber, too bad Caster ran away. Kiritsugu and Archibald's fight was awesome. So who was that lady that made the bullets that had Kiritsugu shaking? Bold move by Iri and Maiya to fight Kotomine. Heart stopped when he stabbed Iri. Good thing she has the scabbard.

So...
Kiritsugu practically gave his wife invulnerability with that insane regen. Is there still a risk to put her in the front line? BTW, knowing Urobuchi, this is only the start for the Lancer group. I initially thought Kariya was the puppet, but guess Archibald/Lancer is the one where Urobuchi shows his sadistic nature. I can't wait to witness their terrible fate.

I'm using a hollow-point bullet for comparison, as I assume that the powdered ribs are a substance condensed and packed into the bullet rather than to be melted down and casted with lead as the bullet. The latter process seems to risk evaporating the rib powder, so I'm assuming that the bullet was hollowed out and the substance put in. Last edited by Klashikari; 2011-11-19 at 19:15. This. I enjoyed the episode a lot, but the conclusions to all the battles was... very unsatisfying. Also that whole scene where Kirei is bound to the tree goes on too long and is just kind of awkward. Maiya had way too much time to pull out her gun and shoot Kirei, but yet only does so when he gets really close.

I believe anime only viewers have enough material regarding the Thompson Contender bullet. Talking anything further would be either meaningless or glaring spoiler for the future, so please leave things as they are right here right now, or continue in the spoiler thread.
Also, before anything would go out of hand again, please keep the comparison and "power level" discussions to strict minimum.

And as far I recall, according to the novel Maiya was pretty much beaten to do anything in time, she struggled a lot to just pick her pistol. |
