When we think of demons, we don't think of some hellspawn going to school, falling in love, and growing up, now do we? No, we think of giant monsters feasting on human flesh, flames raining from the sky, and the earth splitting open. Humans were probably seen the same way by the demons, since the spent years knowing nothing of each other except that they were "enemies".

I agree with MikiT's role, but I don't think that means the angels are necessarily evil either. If anything, it may prove the opposite.

For example, consider the possibility Emi's real mother was going to love and raise her, but the church Emi away from her at a young, possibly infantile age. The church then sends Emi away to be raised as a human and orchestrate the death of her father to lead Emi into working for the Church and getting rid of Maou, whom the Church thought it to be the biggest nuisance in their world.

The angels are probably just portrayed as aloof. Beyond uniting with a human to conceive a half human/angel hybrid to serve as the human's champion, their usual M.O is to be hands off and let the humans follow their own path for better or for worse.

The quality of the action in this series really surprised me, very well done.

So Emilia really does go super saiyan when she's in hero mode.

I wonder if any Archangels will show up, like Micheal and Gabriel. (I only know this cause of SMT: Nocturne

Strange info I stumbled upon while looking up the angels... if Miki T is interacting with Maou and and Emi cause she's Gabriel, then does she act as a messenger for some reason?

The action looks fairly budgeted honestly. It's not bad, but it's definitely not great.

But that's not the selling point of the series anyways. I think it's an absolute joy to watch, and this episode was pretty funny at parts.

The first half was pretty nice, but the last area lost some of its velocity.

If the fight scene was anything to go by, she doesn't actually need the wings to fly.

wow. Tons of stuff in episode 5.

If it wasn't a full cour show, 1-5 would be just fine as just a short 5 episode OVA release.

Seen worst OVAs.

Seems like most rpg-ish settings, its the church that's behind most of the evil...
Laughed at when Orba went "How could you side with evil" when it was all him all along lol.

Also, how Asriel was late in joining the fight because he had to go back to get his mantle.

It was great seeing Lucifer just poop his pants when Maou joined back in. And then the super punch.

Emila's companions didn't seem as hostile at all to Maou as I expected.

Chi-chan took everything in pretty well. Hope from the opening, Chi-chan will use her archery skills to help in a future fight.

If demons can recharge their power through fear and despair, couldn't Emila recharge her Sacred power by absorbing the energy of people's hope and courage?
