I laughed at the pun at the start: Okashi. XDD
And then that Suzumiya Haruhi parody. The male MC even uses 'Yare yare'! ...And then felt really bad when she couldn't order a coffee properly. On that note, you're right Mokocchi, who drinks that stuff anyways? I sure don't. -I also have sticker marks all over my drawers! Remnants of a distant past... They've been glued for so long that it's hard to get it off. -And how was mixing the drink a success? -Whoa, Kabikicho at night is a heck lot more dangerous at night than when I visited during the day. Though I did see all those DVD watching stores and cabaret clubs... and a drunk woman. -Is the ending a parody of something?

This episode was awesome once again. Watching Tomoko's misadventures is still as heart-wrenching and comical as usual, but we're seeing another facet of her that we may have seen before, but is starting to get really noticeable now: she's incredibly naive. On the flip side, she's already an expert in making troll faces:

I'm not entirely sure the Cabaret section was meant to be funny, with the exception of the creepy guy completely bypassing her. That got a sigh of relief from me rather than laughter.

Well, that was more depressing than usual. Poor Tomoko, almost crying over her loneliness in the classroom. I wonder what kind of hilarity we'll encounter in next week's episode, maybe there's be a side-splitting scene where Tomoko slits her wrists or returns to Kabichiko to begin a career in prostitution. (Not to make it sound as though I don't enjoy this series, I do enjoy it... I think... but again, I find the humor a bit too black for my tastes ) There's some good looking girls in this show, though. Yuu, the televised cabaret girl, the first not-a-model girl in Kabichiko. Even Tomoko was quite pretty in that brief 'Lady of the night' daydream of hers. |

I wonder whether I should watch the series.
I read the manga and while it definitely had some funny gag moments, it was more filled with sadness and melancholy, helped also by that peculiar manga design. Is the anime so far focusing mainly on the hilarious moments? If so, I dont think I'lll watch it. Since the chapters are very short are they 2-3 in every episode? Also I wonder if the anime skips some parts deemed a little too inappropriate for TV. Eg later in the manga Spoiler:
