I recently finished watching Mobile Suit Gundam 0083, and remember people in this forum and other reviews indicating that it had some plot holes. The only one I can think of is how advanced the MS and Gundam are compared with Zeta. What other plot holes did I miss?

All of Gundam Project's data were destroyed at the end of 0083 that's why MS in the beginning of the Zeta era (0087-0088) seems behind.

To be honest MS in the Zeta era aren't behind at all. The Ex-S packs as much as the GP03D but in much smaller package with the addition of ALICE.

Most people complain about 2 things on the inconsistency between 0083 and zeta:

The performance specs of the GP suits (i.e. accleration, power generation etc) outperforms even the Zeta gundam itself by a lot, which doesnt seem to make sense since Zeta is supposed to be the apex of MS tech in 0087.

The very high effectiveness of the half-control system on Neue Ziel, which is never seen again in post 0083 time. It's effectiveness is shown to be greater than that of quasi-psycommu system, which is still at experimental stage in 0088. It make no sense that such an effective all-range attack system will just disappear and never be used again while replacing it with a even less effective quasi-psycommu.

One that I also think make little sense:

They can't explain where all the GM Quel went by time of zeta.

I think I saw one or two GM Quels in first Zeta movie on one scene on top of Battleship(Alexandria class?) but im not so sure

Yes they were there. But that was all we saw of them.
