Sigh, another all girl mecha series - after Regalia I'm afraid about this sub-genre.
Very nice designs by Renge Murata ruined by CGI... At least Sanzigen isn't that terrible.

I think the power of the PV is just too strong. There are definitely more I-machines (in other words, basically talking robots) than human girls on the cast, yes.

what worries me is Neflix going more aggressive on CG anime. hope this doesnt drive the market towards full cg

A thus any chances for discussion about this show while it airs are basically killed. Unlike LWA or Magi there is no fanbase to make subs. Fucking netflix and it's retarded binge-watchers mentality.

kuromukuro and ajin didn't really have a fanbase either. Hell kuromukuro was an original series. There will most likely be fansubbers, or you know you could just wait for it to be on netflix legally

That giant robot doing a Naruto run is so dumb I can't not give this a chance. The song is quite catchy too. The CG is off in the humans but so does every non-movie CG anime ever. The mechs are cool tho.

Oh, I am sure that way of running vastly predates the existence of Naruto.

I also think it's a cool little sequence even if the robot may not get to do that.

As for the 3D, I think it actually looks better than average even compared to a couple of recent series (unexpected audience darling Kemono Friends and the more controversial ongoing Berserk TV adaptation come to mind).

The fact there's no 2D also means it's not going to stick out. The robotic characters look fine in 3D and they'll likely get a good chunk of screen time. Then again, as someone who grew up watching ancient productions like ReBoot and Beast Wars, my tolerance for 3D is quite high. Compared to that, this isn't remotely a problem for me.

I don't really have a problem with CG in itself. CG humans just tend to look weird/creepy to me unless it's a movie when they have enough money to polish and make super good looking stuff.
