With all the changes in 2199 and 2202, the plot structure and setting of a Dark Nebula arc might become its own thing rather than stick with the original plots. It might even be split within a new plot involving Dessler and the Gamilas Empire, since it is an entirely viable empire this time around instead of having a dead homeworld and a crippled empire. Plus Earth is in a potentially different position, depending on the results of the Comet Empire arc, and if that time-rift shipyard remains intact going forwards. As Earth will still need to replace its fleets.

That will be interesting if the Bolar Wars Arc Dessler had sent his expiditonary Fleet to find his Ancestral Home Planet Galman and Retaking it from the Opressive Bolars while Dietz and his goverment had to defend Gamilas by the Time on Dessler's Mission to liberate Galman and kicking the Bolars out Earth had been Neutral as always unless a stray proton missile would caused their sun to been messed up. whenever the Yamato Crew had to find the Hydro Cosmogun to reverse the sun's temperature. Bonus Points i.ve wanted to see the remake of the Bolar Fortress look like.

Well they made the ship prominate early in the story so they'd get a model.

Hmmm i.ve might been hoping if Tsubasa Kato the child of Makoto and Saburo Kato been Recovered from a Planet Bomb Syndrome till he grew up to become a Fighter Pilot like his dad similar to the original Character Shiro Kato younger brother of the late Saburo Kato. kind of possibility.

Render of the old-style battle satellite. Much prefer this design.

Ithekro, what was the armament of these satellites?

Ye olde tech manual says it has 12 shock wave projector cannons. The rules treat them like medium shock cannons...same at on the EDF battlecruisers, or Yamato's secondary batteries now a days. (four to six (F) turrets depending on balance of game play, originally).

The original use of them against Yamato made it look like all the batteries fired together was almost wave motion gun like, yet when they fought the Comet Empire ships later on, they didn't even scratch the destroyers.

Have fun! Just beware, the tips of the forward fins are very fragile and prone to being snapped off when you break the sprue holding it.

Thanks for the advice! I also got a Revell Star Destroyer and lighting kit so these will be interesting additions to my collection of models.

Went over the Dreadnought and Andromeda model data (and the Japanese Wikipedia), and found some interesting things:
  • Those openings on the back of the superstructure of the Andromeda and Dreadnought are "dimensional dampening suppressors". Their purpose is to restrain and release dimensional shock waves inside the cylinders when the Wave Motion Shield and Wave Motion Guns are used
  • The Dreadnought's subspace torpedo launchers are located on the sides of the muzzle of the WMG. It also has anti-aircraft missile launchers on either the forward deck or rear deck—I got 2 different translation saying different things and I don't know exactly what it looks like
  • I still don't know where the "Control Tower Protective Shockfield Guns" listed as part of Andromeda and Dreadnought's armament are, but they intercept live ammunition by emitting a shock wave
  • The Cosmo Tiger program was actually called the "Cosmo Tactical" plan, or CT plan
  • The 30mm guns on the Cosmo Tiger II are pulse laser guns. The 12.7mm guns are regular machine guns
  • The triple-seat variant of the Cosmo Tiger II (the one with a turret) has only finished the design process; it's yet to be manufactured
  • The Cosmo Tiger apparently has warp capability. The Japanese wiki's (Google translation) wording is a bit unclear if it was part of the big booster's Kato uses or not

These last 3 eps where how I say, very Star Trekish. Especially in their particular problems and resolutions for each ep. But then again for the most part, the way Yamato has been presented since 2199 has felt that way. I felt these eps were even more so than any other time.

I hope the typical moping of moral decisions that racking Kodai's current state will be resolved and the Yamato can move forward with its mission. That typical idealistic thinking and using brute force and luck can only take you so far before the writing gets stale.

Dessler is usually a catalyst for getting Kodai motivated and out of mopping mode.

That I am most looking forward too. The subplots surrounding the Yamato most certainly keep things interesting. Although these few eps were certainly not without its plot holes and plot conveniences.

It seems that Hobby Link Japan has the 1/1000 scale Apollo Norm model kit up for preorder, due in March of 2018.
