Skyfall [James Bond]
This is apparently in production now. As a James Bond movie fan, I'm excited. There is not much information around for right now. There is a brief synopsis in IMDB, but I can't verify the source. Anyway, here it is in the following: Bond's loyalty to M is tested as her past comes back to haunt her. As MI6 comes under attack, 007 must track down and destroy the threat, no matter how personal the cost.P.S. Thread is dedicated to Skyfall. Hi Sky-chan!

There are not many information, so I will just say this for now:
'Skyfall' a potentially great titel for a potentially awesome SciFi movie and/or series, was wasted here on James Bond. Most likely the titel will, as always, have little relation to the actual contents of the James Bond movie and thus could have been anything else, like "Foul Banana', or 'Radiant Weasel Impact'. But they chose to occupy 'Skyfall' anyway, which I can only describe as 'Asshattery'. |

I heard some faint rumours. Will they make this the end of a trilogy? Coz, as we know, an actor’s life-span will make it impossible for him playing Bond for more than, say, four movies, although I’d love to see Daniel playing Bond in all adaptations of the of the original novel.
Nolan face the same problem and maybe that’s why he wants to wrapped up his Batman story while all the main cast still alive and kickin’.

On the less important subject at hand, I'm not sure if I'm all that excited about the project; I guess action flicks don't do it for me like they used to. While I have watched and found some entertainment in the previous Bond movies, I guess it's something I will pick up when finding myself with lots of free time on my hands, rather than something I would rush to a cinema to see the moment it comes out. Though as some pointed out, the title doesn't sound very Bond-like ... unless they can introduce alien invasion in it! I'd totally watch that ...

I would rather see, Skyfall, used in a Bond movie than a crappy Sci-fi movie whose selling point is actually the horror theme a lot of these sci-fi genre incorporates. Looking forward to Daniel Craig going through a few more dry walls.

Despite all that, Bond movies have always been entertaining, mostly thanks to the character interactions, and that's what I'll be looking forward to. Insane gadgets are also welcome |

Javier Bardem is your new Bond villain. I've only seen his role in No Country For Old Men and he has arguably played one of the "scariest" villain to my memory. No trailer yet! I just did. The CG looks impressive. Alas! once again the horror aspect will be one of the driving factor for the "sci-fi". I'm one of those people who refuses to acknowledge the movie Alien as a Sci-fi flick. Really, I'm yearning for a good sci-fi for a very long time. The last good one I've seen was 2001 A Space Odyssey and that was made way before I was born. It's been a long wait.

I never remember Bond films for their stories, not in terms of them being very detailed or cerebral. However, they provide just enough intrigue and flavor to match the whole "spy action" deal. At least that's what I got out of Craig's Bond films.
I must say I never really paid great attention to 007 before Craig. I've seen 1 or 2 Bronsnon's films and they didn't do anything for me. Then again, I'm not really crazy about Sir Connery's films either, guess you just had to be part of the time. It's the sixties goofiness/sexiness (RETRO) that makes it work. Craig's Bond films don't rely so much on gadgetry and other stuff. I guess that makes it nothing more than an average action flick in category but it's a good action flick (not stupid) and a nice spin on an iconic character. Craig is kinda ruthless and is conflict with his superiors, makes for an interesting contrast between his totally flawless in the field super spy face. Plus Judi Dench is really cool as M.
