How much insult can a man take ? :-

Quote:
Donor is wife's lover

A BUSINESSMAN with end-stage renal disease was saved from death by a kidney donation from a man who was a friend of his wife.

His gratitude turned to anger and depression when he found out about a month after the operation that the good Samaritan was actually his wife's lover.

Worse was to come.

The donor turned out to be the father of his four-year-old daughter, too.

According to documents tendered in court, the businessman was at work on Sept 1, 2008 when he got a call that his wife and his kidney donor were inside his Chiltern Park Condominium apartment in Serangoon Avenue 3.

The man - a wholesaler in soft drinks and alcoholic beverages - decided to confront them.

I don't know. I thought this was quite telling...

Spoiler for in the article:

And isn't this something the U.N. should be taking care of, and not the U.S.?

Yesterday, I was on the floor, and I was a co-sponsor with a piece of legislation with the Gentlelady from Minnesota, Ms. McCollum, that would have moved money -- no new money -- would have moved money so that societies that are coercing young girls into marriage, we could build them latrines so they could go to school. Or we could make sure that they stay in school so they're not forced into marriage at the age of 12 and 13. But all of a sudden, there was a fiscal argument. When that didn't work, then people had to add an abortion element to it. Look, this is a partisan place. I'm a Republican. I'm glad we beat their butt in the election; we're going to be in the majority next year. But there comes a time when enough is enough, and McCollum's bill was a good bill last night. ... We should stop the nonsense, approve the bill and move on.
PS. whats the UN?

So then where did the money come from Xellos? It said move money, but not requiring new money, but where? And just because a Republican says it, doesn't mean it's correct or honest.

Recent studies say otherwise.

Studies can always be wrong or slanted.

"How to Lie with Statistics"

However it probably is time for that practice to be lifted anyway.

As the poster below you said. Statistics don't tell the whole story. For example, the Marine Corps in those studies is against repealing DADT. They are also more likely to be in combat than any other branch.

That likely has more to do with the Marine corp being more conservative of an institution than other branches. No other nation has had an issue with allowing gays to serve openly in the military.

Further, it's not like there aren't any gays serving now. They just need to keep it secret or they get kicked out. That situation creates a security risk, as those people could be blackmailed into revealing sensitive information if someone finds out. If they're allowed to serve openly, that changes.

Wrong.
The Russians have had some pretty serious problems with openly gay officers abusing elisted conscripts.

It is fortunate that we don't use conscripts in our military anymore.

The Army might be smaller, but it is all volunteer.

Though the option to draft is still there...no politician wants to use it for fear of their job. The reaction to the last draft was a near revolution, or at least major series of civil disturbances...and a heavy decrease in military moral and effectiveness overall.

Anything to show that this is in fact widespread? Sounds like it's limited in scope but the article is trying to play it up. Though really it seems like it has less to do with allowing gays in the military than general corruption in Russia. Money seems to be the motivation there, not homosexuality.
