@Calca: It's not that Soma is told to cook only for those he loves. He's going to be running a restaurant, so that'd actually be bad. What he's been told is the same as what his dad wanted to tell him earlier before Soma hung him (we got to hear it, but Soma didn't): Find someone you'd want to cook all of the best food in the world for. As in, find a woman to cook for.

Right now, though, Soma only wants her tongue rather than the person herself. Hopefully him wanting the person herself will come up too.

So Asashi is just Jouichirou's disciple who he treated as a son, and he's out to steal everything away from Soma.

If this development can lead to actual romance, all the better.

I'm lost as to why anyone is speculating over what happens if either guy wins when Erina has 0 obligation to fulfill anything out of the blue like that. For all the big game Suzuki was talking I thought he had his own sweetheart. I'd be more interested in a "couples" shokugeki than this pseudo ntr plot.

For me personally, I know that Erina won't be forced to do anything. It's just the presentation that irks me. The one guy says he's going to marry her and Soma says she (her tongue) belongs to him. Erina deserves more respect than that from Soma in particular, whether she's in the room or not. It's just shitty. I didn't find it funny.

Tbf, only one of them is talking like that. The other is purely talking about having Erina as a partner aka her tongue to make his dishes better. That might be not so much better than the other one's talk but at least Souma does not think he can rule over Erina's emotions. Even if he could have worded it a little differently... but then again he is just a cook-idiot who only thinks about cooking.^^;

the good thing is asahi is no related by blood even if he looks like soma, the bad thing is everything else... I'm not looking foward for this arc.

At least that the Soma's fragile 1st seat position won't get snatched away even if he lost the match and Erina could just brush off the deal because it is nonsensical to begin with.

why do i feel like this asahi guy misunderstand something about jou's phrase, he talked as if he could make woman fall in love with him just by give her best food that suit her palate.

i hope there are more meaning of jou's phrase rather than just cook for loved one, which is only soma would realize later, but not this asahi guy.

Asahi was implying that he would monopolise Erina's tongue by marrying her (which is dumb I know), while Soma got irritated because some random guy just showed up out of nowhere and started running his mouth, and we know Soma never took sh*t from anyone, ever

for me they were just trash-talking each other, some people just usually get carried away during direct confrontation like this, especially those with really highly competitive spirit. How many times we have seen a character's opinion got ignored because there were some heated battles?


Of course it could have been worded better. Oh well, what are we expecting here? I suppose things would get even dumber after the previous arc
