"LET'S GO!"
"OH MY GOD!" The tri schools do not even look threatening and all powerful except maybe for Osaka and their money. I bet the 4 devas could defeat them if only they had their 3-star uniforms on, of course.... in which according to the preview they will and it seems Sanageyama is gonna get his ass handed (again) |

So glad they fast forwarded Ryuko's Collect all 151 scraps of Senketsu and had her just do it all in one go, and setup for the final piece in one episode instead of dragging it out on all 3 locations for 3-4 episodes. Pretty much cutting out the fat.

Fantastic episode. Just pure amusing exhilarating fun from start to finish.
I love how this show does things so fast, almost like the complete and utter opposite of DBZ. Nonetheless, the three enemy schools all had their moments, and that Money-based antagonist was genuinely pretty impressive, challenging, and threatening. The fact that he required Satsuki herself to get directly involved certainly speaks to how tough and competent he is. Ryuko and Mako both had great scenes, and I smiled at "Pomp and Circumstance" (older pro wrestling fans will probably know why).

Great Episode with some hilarious parts like Ryoko constantly interfering in the battles to the point the soundtrack doesn't even bother the third time, the professor rejoining Nudist Beach and Mako just being Mako. I thought all three schools would be taken out at once but the money guy is actually holding out a bit longer and seems like he might actually be dangerous.

Mako Mankanshoku has finally revealed the source of her badassery! Go forth, Mankanshoku, and spread the terror of Hokuto Shinken!
The sengoku jidai reference this episode appears to be Aikuro Mikisugi's line, "The time has now come". That would be a reference to Akechi Mitsuhide's famous line "The time is now, the fifth month when the rain falls (toki wa ima, ame ga shitashiru satsukikana)" when he was in a renga session with several prominent poets. An alternative reading of the line, without changing its pronunciation, would be "Toki [clan] shall now rule the realm under the sky" Akechi's ancestral family name was Toki. Then Akechi began his march to Kyoto to betray Nobunaga. Some parallels could be drawn: both Aikuro and Akechi unveiled their true colors after that famous line. |

The whole motorcycle part reminded me alot of Re Cutie Honey. Esp the random same-face mooks getting owned and bike-face riding. Hell, lot's of things in KlK remind me of it(I think ReCH is made by Gainax as well?).
Mako actually catching those bullet bills at point-blank range kinda makes her feel on par with the Elite Four, given how Sanageyama was doing the same thing(of course there were more machineguns when Sanage was doing it, just saying it gave me that impression).

Fantastic episode! Loved everything from the fights to the comedy to the serious bits, it was all excellent!~ <3
Ryūko just keeps getting better and better, love her so much. And Mako was awesome too! :> All the varied animation styles and art really brought this episode to life. And another "nani sore~?" to add to the books... lol Aikuro's return to Nudism was ... LUSH And also hilarious haha Ohh but I don't want a new opening though... I hate it when the second opening isn't as good, it ruins things for me :<

A top score deserves this episode for pure, nonsensical, slapstick action. So, they're dragging the showdown at Osaka for the next episode, and Ryuko's still a missing piece left to put Senketsu back together again. The big, very big issue is that Satsuki is in hold on her left hand of that very last piece.
Life will never be convenient and nothing goes as planned all the way, but this is Ryuko, the patron saintess of recklessness, that we're talking about. Hope that the Nudists get to make their move for real in the next episode, as well as maybe Ragyo interfering a little in the scene. |
