About the latest Vol 8 cover, I'm assuming that it actually is Chamille and Ikta there, since 8th's cover & the characters' posture perfectly mirrors Vol 7's:

With the romance for yatori......no rather from what i've read in the last volume their relationship could be called some form of higher wordless obsession for each other right? (In a good way)
I simply don't want to see his character change too much here.
But with THIS much development that won't be possible I guess.
If I were to beautify things then Ikta dying in the next ark would calm down all the romantists.
But personally I want him to move on with his life (though him having a relationship with
another woman is something i wouldnt want to accept no matter what)
If this was a drama then I guess he would be drowning himself in alcohol right now..

Btw, anyone gets the feeling that if this novel goes on more that 10 volumes and if it gets an anime then the chances of it getting picked up by yen press is 90% or more? Well not to put pressure on laretian and the other translators but....fuuuuu... ~(=3=)~

Ending on v5 will be good with Ikta's rousing speech and the revival of the rising sun regiment. For a 2 cour show ie.

Well having just met this guy he reminds me of the male lead from Horizon far to sarcastic to be taken seriously but also incredibly brilliant a rare type of MC.

SHAT!!! Due to the anime announcement, I was a bit hyped and read this thread again from page 1. Somehow I missed out on summarizing volume 7. And not much of 6 as well (though 6 is less exciting so I don't think it matters). Somehow, I must have dreamed that I did. Anyway, I will get it done in the next 2 weeks (I need to take some time to flip through v7 again to recollect).
But due to the updated rules in Animesuki, I won't be posting summaries here again in case it get licensed in future and blah blah blah. I will probably do it on pastebin and link it from baka-tsuki or jcafe.

EDIT:
I just remembered. I wanted to translate v7 originally and was holding back from writing summaries, but in the end never got around to it. That's why v7 summary wasn't up.
