Both seasons of original Bahamut had even better bonuse (though not much). It did not help. You are underestimating the popularity of characters..

Not exactly. The original SnB had absolutely no bonus on the same caliber: basically SR Rita and SR Amira who no one would ever bother using, the rest were codes for SnB game.
Virgin Soul only had Nina, Charioce, Rita, Amira and 4 SSR ticket, then the bar for the complete set bonus. In comparison, you get SSR tickets, a damascus bar, a sun stone and the gold bar with GBF (+1 character and skins), Uma Musume and Manaria full set.

And you shouldn't forget the biggest difference: the price. GBF set was worth 42k (DVD) or 49K (BD). Virgin soul was 48k. Uma musume was 51k. Manaria? 19.6k. It is lower than half of the other BD for a full set of 2 BD only. That's why a lot of GBF players have bought the manaria BD, more often than the other series.
Of course, this also means that it would be much easier for people sorely interested in the BD to buy it anyway.

5 eps of Manaria are the same as 2.5 eps of Bahamut. Virgin soul had 6 eps per BD, for example. So the pericer is comparable.

You completely missed the point. For those who buy cygames anime BD for the codes, Manaria is obviously going to sell much more because the price is below half compared to the rest.
And people who bought the BD for the actual anime would hardly consider the "episode ratio". The price for the whole set is more attractive, regardless if the episode were 1/2 or 2/3 of regular anime series, because people would rather have the whole set than just the first volumes unless only the first volumes have good limited stuff, which doesn't matter here because of only 2 volumes for the entire set.

So yeah, it is very likely the price itself has a huge impact on the purchases, regardless if the gbf codes were incentive or not for the purchase.

Though I said before that Anne and Grea are drawn together by both being Princesses, it came up in the last ep that this will inevitably part them as well, a bit sad. Grea mooning over Anne's bed was very sweet though.

Probably some sort of art book. If so it would likely be for all the characters in either Rage of Bahamut or GranBlue Fantasy, not just Anne and Grea.

They still have two years in the academy (the anime covers their first year). I doubt anything is set in stone at this point. Two years of sharing a room (and probably a bed too) is a long time and anything can happen.

There's also the bit of lore that Hanna mentioned in episode 8. In the past, the kingdom of Manaria and the dragons were at war. The war threatened to destroy the world so even the gods had to intervene to stop it. That considering, having the princesses get together to unify the kingdoms and make sure war won't happen again would make everyone happy (even the gods). From a political stand point, it could definitely happen.

We will never know though. The anime is kind of its own story than doesn't truly follow either RoB or GBF. And even if it did, the games will never reach a point when they have to part ways. That would just annoy the fanbase.

I got a tiny bit of a 'lesbians until graduation' vibe, but possibly not. Princesses do need to get married and ensure the royal succession, but maybe they could sort that out with magic.

For that you would need a graduation, but these characters inhabit a perpetual high-school limbo. Wondering what might or might not happen in a graduation that will never come is kind of a futile exercise.
