Mugino sounded strange. It's like Koshimizu Ami got no energy left in her.

This was cool although I wish they poured more budget into the episode. Maybe they're saving it for the more important fights.

Really glad to see ITEM, SCHOOL, GROUP, etc. Kakine's voice is actually how I kidna pictured him as well. Seeing Mugino again since Railgun S was also neat. Excited to see rest of this arc!

Pretty rushed. And confusing for those who are anime only. Not to mention the subpar animation. You know it's bad when Hamazura's seat in the truck is a picture of a real car seat. Most likely 2 more episodes for this volume/arc given this pace.

Well, that was as confusing as I remember

There is no point on mention how awful was the animation, at this point is obvious the entire season will be like this, so disappointing.

The episode wasn't bad but very rushed, that really affects the series as a whole, 4 episodes in and they keep the same speed. Kakine's voice is spot on, can't wait to see more of him.

I usually recall JC having better quality than this.

Is this one of those things where someone on the Light Novel side forced this project on JC, and that they don't want to do it?
And it's like, no, we need this series to be popular again, so we are going to make three different anime series! Do it, JC, and stop rolling your eyes!

J.C. Staff recently reminds me of A-1 Pictures. Quantity over Quality.
They take on too many projects, and the results are clearly visible. Only few of their shows really stands out, or not even that, the rest are just okay-ish at best. But even with that, Index III seemingly really took a big hit. When the lack of promotion really meant that the production is not going smoothly.

"Recently" was already a thing since season 2 with th studio handling 4 series airing the same season.

Well, I just noticed it recently with majority of the anime announcements being a J.C. Staff project.

I never understood the difference in character of Kinuhata in the beginnings of Railgun (or Railgun S in anime) and the novel Super Super Kinuhata, but where the fuck is the super super agressive genki Kinuhata that I remember and her fluffy hair?

People need to reread OT15, it was confusing at the beginning even in the novel. It was about 4 different plotlines and none of it got explained early on.

JC is returning to their "Yumekui merry" era.

People nowadays don't seem to remember how bad JC was in the past. They were very infamous for ruining the adaption. People were really scared if their favorite manga/LN got picked up by them.

Yay, we see the beginnings of HamaCHAD. Honestly, I started liking him more than Touma since I read this part.

Just watched it and she sounded just fine to me. Besides, considering what arc this is there is not going to be much room for an energetic thrill of the fight Mugino.

Exactly, some people who have read the LN seem to have forgotten how these next few arcs are some of the shortest and most cryptic of the series. Avignon arc even in the LN was not exactly the longest arc ever, and the Battle Royale arc is definitely one that keeps it's secrets until the very last moment when you realize how everything connects. And even then, each arc is just a part of the bigger puzzle.

To be fair, I don't remember Mugino being full of energy at this point in the novel.

She sounded fine to me as well, at least on par with what I remember of her normal voice for Mugino when she wasn't fighting Mikoto. Especially when she was dissing Hamazura .

I imagine as she gets more and more ticked off in this arc (non-LN reader here), she'll probably get as crazy as she was there .

Watch the episode again, that one scene where she says Kakine's name with pure hate is basically going to be her default mode throughout this entire arc.

The negativity here is insane.
I read OT 15 recently, and I can attest to the fact that episode 4 was as hard to understand as in the novel. They actually made it flow a little better, even. People are looking through rose tinted glasses
