Pretty funny right off the bat. They really went hard on the "absolute caution" bit. Thank goodness the goddess is at least able to stop him from killing random passersby in case they're disguised monsters or serial killers. But the world ignores the rules too, as apparently the demon lord has read the Overlord's Handbook. You realize there's a hero coming for you, you don't send your weakest minions after him first, you send your strongest general to wipe him out before he knows what's happening.

It wasn't a bad first episode. Didn't exactly grab me, but I can appreciate the comedy they are running with. They did a decent job making sure the goddess was ridiculous enough that you don't mind her being driven crazy while working with the main character.
And hey at least the protagonist being the way he is works for this scenario. Extreme caution will be valuable in getting through this. And hey despite him not having any trust...there isn't any risk for the MC. If he dies....well he just goes home. No big deal.

But then, the general idea of whipping out a top level guy early had kind of been done, in Konosuba. I await this guy's solution. |

Lol he actually ran.
This goddess is a clumsy one isn't she. It was kinda refreshing to see her lusting after the mc from the start(his appearance). His personality is also quite different(weird) than most isekai mc I see. I think I'm going to like this one. Poor goddess probably has a lot of hardship ahead of her.

Generally, this looks like a fun show, poking fun at the isekai Hero Journey while giving the Goddess sub-plot a good kicking (which it thoroughly needs IMO). The animation is gag-level which fits the story, the voice acting is good enough.
Kadokawa is supposedly doing a sequel to Isekai Quartet, this show would fit in quite well as one of the "expansion teams". It would be fun watching Ainz Ooal Gown and Seiya-kun try and out-prepare each other.

The VA on the goddess is actually really good IMO. Its very varied which is great, since she talks a lot.
From what I know of it this is going to be really good. The adaptation was pretty much better then expected already. The only limiting factor is probably if you find it funny, or identify to the type of player the author used as a model to make the story around.

yeah seiya you are the man, this is how a "isekai hero" was supposed to be, he is really a true "hero" , only idiots would jump in a dangerous world without "preparation"(yeah batman making school).
Indeed seiya is basically abova batman levels when comes to "be prepared" you will see in the future this, this serie is really fun and for what i could see the mc or at last the point of view is not really seiya, but rater than the goddess rista, since most of the time she will be the focus of the serie, it's about at last so far where the manga is, the serie is more about she having to deal with a full crazy over cautious mad man, with a "six pack" abss!!!!. what i liked more in seiya is which also even his look is different from most of the isekai mcs, instead of the "tin and small/average size" prot you have seiya being really tall for a japanese man and even being a very well build body and maniac for training. i really love which on this season we gonna get not only 1 but 2 series with isekai parody having a totally weird op protagonist which instead of follow the regular path of the "yuusha" he goes on his own weird path and way( the other one being the one about the "furry crazy lover" wrestler mc".)

I rather liked the VA who voiced the first Big Bad, Chaos Machina. Very crazy, very much like Overlord's crazy-mad Clementine -- did you notice the pose she took just before launching after the two fleeing MCs?
Another little homage I spotted -- Seiyu's arrival in the Summoning Circle mirrored the arrival of the time-travelling Terminator in the first Schwarzenegger movie, down to the little electrical sparks.

That was a good start. The comedy works for me, though I do worry about the jokes getting stale after a while.
Usually Isekai series are low stakes due to how OP the protagonist is. In this case, it's low stakes due to how OP this guy maybe and that there's no real loss to him if he dies.

I saw every inane D&D player trope thrown out by the hero and the typical DM pushed to the edge in the Goddess. Just for that it was worth enduring the over-the-top craziness. lol Looks like it could be good for those type of laughs if nothing else.

The source LN author mentions in their afterwords that Seiya is modeled on the class of RPG players who take the max-out grinding approach to gameplay (ie. those who max out their stats as much as possible before doing game quests).
Also, Seiya's personality and Lista as the POV main character appears to be a parody of webnovel isekai story-writing cliche; where the summoned hero MC is usually described as an average-looking/built nice guy (the better for reader self-insert) who serves as reader POV, and the summoning goddess as the enigmatic divine entity who may have a longer game in mind. Here, the goddess is the eager if naive open book who's the POV; Seiya's the attractive but rudely paranoid hero who we know little about personally. |

So Gods and Goddesses created multiple worlds that they then summon heroes to save in their time of need? Sure it bumps up their rank and status, but that's still pretty helpful compared to other fictional gods I know .
I love how they made fun of the Isekai genre and how Japanese people's familiarity with it is why they're the ones who always get summoned into these things . Ristarte and her reactions to Seiya practically carried the comedy of this episode. You can tell Aki Toyosaki is having a lot of fun playing her, especially with her wide range of emotions and expressions throughout the episode. She's not a useless goddess per se, what with being an experienced Goddess Advisor, but she's definitely out of her depth with a guy like Seiya and on an S-Ranked mission . Seiya, the titular "Cautious Hero," definitely fits the bill with the extensive time he takes to get ready and how he distrusts practically anyone he comes across. He's not one to mince words, and he does come off as fairly cold or unemotional, and Yuichiro Umehara conveys his biting stoicness quite well. Although even he couldn't refuse a little girl's charm . The Opening is pretty solid. Showcases the cast and I assume all the Demon Lord's vassals to a catchy enough beat with some nice visuals . I wonder how much of Ristarte and Seiya's relationship is going to be about her just reacting to his absurd level of caution and preparedness while trying to get him to actually do his job...she definitely can't resist ogling his finely toned body even though a human and a Goddess can't love one another (although she doesn't seem like she'd be that resistant to it), meanwhile Seiya seems to care about her only as far as he can throw her (which is probably pretty far) . I...actually felt kind of bad for that Slime . Obviously things aren't going as Ristarted planned when the Demon Lord has already taken into account their summoning a hero and sent out one of his higher-leveled warriors to take our heroes out...good thing Seiya knows when to cut and run .
