I think it's by an assistant of the author of Chainsawman? It's a similar mix of horror and comedy. Probably not as tragic, though.

Yeah, the author was an assistant to the author of Chainsawman and as a result, the series was recommended by both said author and the author of Hell's paradise.

Everything I've heard about this manga is that it's basically on the same WTF level, if not even more than, Chainsawman.

And after the batshit insanity that was CSM, I'm hesitant go into these levels of WTF.

The manga is available on Mangaplus now. Kinda slipped under my radar until I saw it there, this is really good stuff.

Spoiler for chapter 21:

It's WTF in a comedic sense. You can feel some influence here and there, but the atmosphere of the two manga couldn't be more different. I'd say it's 40% comedy, 30% action, 20% romance and 10% sad.

For those who are still left around here... well, it's gaining popularity, so i checked it out.

A few posts up I point out that this is recommended by the mangaka of Chainsawman, partially because it's his assistant. Honestly, I can't say I was really a big fan of Chainsawman, so I didn't want to check this out. But, I did.

Holy shit. It's not so much WTF as it is just bizarre comedy. The best way to describe it is, Gintama on crack. And it's surprisingly good too, even by my tastes!

I wouldn't say Gintama on crack, but it is a bit similar to Gintama now that you mention it. The MC losing his balls which turned gold is pretty much straight from Gintama

They got rid of the aliens in the latest chapter. They're using their powers in creative ways.

I enjoy it for its sheer lunacy, which it embraces with total abandon. And for the record it's seriously buzzing in Japan - it and Blue Box may be the hottest new manga of the year.

An extra chapter came out today, and we're still getting a regular chapter tomorrow. Honestly, I have no idea how this mangaka does it, he usually releases longer chapters than for a weekly manga, and the extra was even a whopping 35 pages.

Anyway, it was damn good. Ayase and her 3 million IQ.

Yeah, the extra chapter was a nice treat. Contained the fun energy of the series and a cute moment for shippers too.

Is Okarun going to confess only 30 chapters in? He can't do that! That's against the rules!

Jiji is super annoying, I hope he was brought in for more than just making Okarun jealous.

I'm finding the current arc to be way too long for what it is. And what it is is mostly fighting. I'm reading this for the wacky stuff.

I don't mind it too much, though I do hope we are finally approaching the climax.

Buddha Megazord vs giant Kaiju. This manga is going places again.

The previous was way too long and serious, I'm glad the manga is returning to its roots.

I'm amazed this hasn't gotten an announcement or at least a leak yet.

I'd say give it another year before Dandadan gets the anime green light. It's too freaking weird enough not to get one.

A year??? It's got as much buzz as any new title in a couple of years, very strong sales. and it's right at that 6-7 volume point where trendy manga tend to get greenlit. We'll see but I'd expect something a lot sooner.

Well, that was unexpected. Unsurprisingly, the chapter where a potential new love interest is introduced gets the most discussion in ages.
