1. When I heard that the love letter was 'creepy', I had no idea how much of an understatement that really is In fact, a portion of the chapter went to talking about "Yandere"

2. Nagi's right you know Hayate... Yanderes' are very dangerous...

3. Lol, Maria was a heartbreaker But it's not like we didn't see that coming

4. Holy crap, the return letter is even worse than the original

5. Aww, that's sweet, they're holding hands... Too bad Hayate once again becomes the target of onlookers' hate/jealousy

6. Lol at the end, it was the ghost priest who sent that letter... And Isumi was next to him; hence the cute girl scent

For better or worse, if there's one thing Hayate is good at, it's complimenting girls It's been a long wait, but we finally a Hayate/Maria day-to chapter Nothing incredible happened yet, but there are tons of LOL-worthy scenes

1. Somewhat as expected, having Ayumu and Hina trailing Hayate and Maria. And Hina's eventual overactive imagination spawn something amazing that almost fried her

2. For a Maria chapter, Hina had a few cute moments too *cough* button *cough*

3. What's better than a causal dressed Maria? A causal dressed Maria with her hair down and blushing in Hayate's arms

4. Maria seems to really want to play the onee-san role

5. Evil Penguin is evil...

6. Maria... Can she be place under the same situation as Hina was? I mean... She's really falling for Hayate...

7. "Are you two dating!", "NO! This is just a-" "Oh, thank goodness...:

That concludes the Maria/Day-to mini arc... It wasn't terribly deep, but it was very entertaining for a much await event... And as a bonus, we get Ayumu and Hina deciding to go on a vacation

What an odd tale of friendship, Spice and Wolf, clumsiness, comparing moe, otaku fights, and arcade game Still, it's good that Chiharu gets some focus and expand her connections, relations, and interactions with more characters... That, and she got a moe scene lol!


Chapter 193
----------------

Well this chapters turns out to be three parts; One is Yukiji trying to find a cheap way to travel overseas for free, while the other deals with Wataru's money, and woman, problem. Curious, Sakuya have been spending and awfully long time with Wataru. And even though the they're going on vacation, it doesn't look like they'll be heading to the same place as Hayate...

The part is about Nagi and what she intends to do with the money earned. I think this really shows how much Nagi has grown- She's no longer the completely depend little rich girl that see used to be.

Oh, and at the end of it all, Kaoru finally got the courage to sort of ask Yukiji out Good for him... Sort of.

Man, are the chapters getting more complicated or am I just losing my ability to interpret raw chapters accurately. Read 189-196 and was barely able to understand what was occurring in some off the chapters.

Three questions for those that understand Japanese.

1. In the Maria-Hayate Date, what was the importance of the button Hina pushed.

2. What was the main plot or points of chapter 192. The Chiharu one. (Could not figure it out at all.)

3. What were Miki and Hayate doing in 196. (Seemed like a fun chapter. There has been almost no Miki-Hayate interaction this entire series. There is usually either trio-Hayate interaction or Izumi-Hayate interaction.)

Miki is funny

1. It distracted Hina and Ayumu, thus they lost trail of Hayate and Maria. And they missed the scene where Hayate saved Maria from dolphins as result, didn't they?

2. It's just friendship between Chiharu and Nagi. Nagi and Chiharu having fun&fight together.

3. They were filming 'A heartbreakingly tantalizing film that makes you want to cry'. And If you don't understand Japanese, it'll look as if Hayate has feelings towards Miki, but it's actually Miki saying 'Hayate-kun might think like this' and Hayate saying 'No, I didn't even one bit. So don't worry. And please don't subtitle someone else's thoughts by yourself.' Miki realizes in the end that there's love that cannot be taken in even if she speaks it out loud.
(People thinks that it's her love towards Hinagiku).

And the thing about H-hero:

Miki: Wha... what is he...
Hayate: Well? But, since he has fringes covering his eyes, isn't he a main character of H games?

Nagi contacts Maria that she will stay at Izumi's, pondering over the latest version of 'Magical Destroy'. Meanwhile, only Hayate and Maria are left in the mansion. Both of them seems to notice each other. The priest gives Nagi some advice about manga.
At Sanzenin's(sp?), Hayate and Maria discuss about what to do while eating dinner together. Hayate says that he might do some studying and Maria tells absent-mindedly him that she will help him. At that moment, Maria realizes that they will be together in one room with no one else around. She thinks up of an excuse to get away, but seeing that Hayate is so happy about her helping him with studies, she gives up.
Meanwhile, at Saginomiya's everyone is still having heated discussions about mangas.


199 - There's nothing that comes out as you expected! Never! It's just your fantasies!

It's 10 pm, and both of them are studying. Maria comes into the room with tea and notices the pendant that Hayate has. Hayate explains how he has gotten it and asks Maria if she knows what it is. Maria says it's Outama(王玉: King Jade). She doesn't know the details, but it was found by Nagi's mum in Sanzenin's treasure trove. There are 9 in total, and Maria said Nagi's grandpa gave it to the people who he had interest in, so he must have given it to Hayate for becoming Sanzenin's butler.
Maria wasn't actually a maid, but she was a private teacher. And there goes a flashback. Maria once won in a game of chess with Nagi and such. Nagi wouldn't listen to anyone but Maria so she got the job of taking care of her as well. Hayate says that 'Well, we were complete strangers four months before.' and Maria off-mindedly says that 'Well now, we're in a big mansion alone in a small room, which certainly looks suspicious.'

Hayate: (A while ago, a stranger...)
Maria: (And now... now...)
(note: both of them are blushing with hearts beating fast)

When things are getting good, a call from Nagi comes, telling Hayate to come and pick her up.




These days, the mangaka is emphasizing the Maria's feelings towards Hayate, no?

It is kind of funny how we had so little Maria development and then BAM! alot of it. I guess it is so people don't completely put a Maria ending as lost. Giving Maria some more screen time with Hayate then before.

So YAY! Go Maria. (Still can't decide between Maria or Hina but want both to have more screentime.

Maybe this means Maria will have more screentime in the second anime season.

I saw it coming miles away, and I see more is coming in near future. After all, Maria is the only one out of all main girls that Hayate has shown reasonable crush. The author needs to develop her a little bit more so it won't end up that A-tan comes in and crush them all in a second. Plus how A-tan knows Maria is required explanation, now it's time to give some Maria's backstory in advance.

Not likely. Because Maria said something along the lines of 'It seemed like Sanzenin's treasure.' And Nagi's mum found it. Nagi's grandpa couldn't have stolen it to revive Nagi's mum.

Doesn't this feel like Hina's arc? It might end with Maria accepting feelings for Hayate, but feeling guilty because of Nagi...
