Okay, now for that scene I mentioned, so people have a personality to build off of for Alavon's challenge, if they want. Posting it just to give an early glimpse of Amy's kids. Reminder that the official chapter won't be coming out for awhile.^^

Spoiler for First scene from "Life (part 1)":

"Do I really have to do this?" Vivio complained, as her mother straightened her coat. It was winter in Japan at the moment, and so was a bit chilly.

"I thought you liked playing with Karel and Liera?" Nanoha asked, surprised. "You three seemed to get along fairly well at the twin's last birthday party.

"Only because other kids were there to distract them," she replied glumly. Those two were a little too... weird for her. "The boys mainly played by themselves, and Liera isn't as bad as Karel."

The door opened, displaying a happy brunette "Hello, you two! And welcome! Sorry it took so long, I had to get something out of the oven."

"It's no problem," Nanoha told her, entering and removing her shoes.

Vivio sniffed, and immediately began to salivate. "What smells so good?"

Amy chuckled. "It's an apple pie. It's cooling now, but in an hour or two you can have a piece."

Nanoha looked around. "So where are your kids?"

As if on cue, a young boy appeared at the top of the staircase. Vivio's eyes widened, as he was wearing a bug-mask from one of those anime shows, and waving a small plastic sword. The red cape fluttering behind him completed the superhero ensemble.

"Evildoer, how dare you trespass here!" the boy with the short reddish-brown hair declared, pointing the sword at the guests.

"There's one of them," Amy noted, bemused.

Vivio groaned and lowered her face into her palm.

Karel continued his exposition, taking various stances. "Those that go against the forces of good, and kidnap innocent damsels for their villainous schemes, shall face the wrath of... JUSTICE RIDER!"

To the surprise of the two visitors, he leapt off the top of the stair case, landing on the railing and sliding down it like a surfer with socked feet. Halfway down he lost his balance, and then tumbled down the rest of the stairs, to land face first in front of the pair.

Vivio sweat-dropped as her hand dropped from her face, noting her mama looking rather concerned, and beginning to make moves to assist, although Karel's mama just stood there, smiling.

The young boy was quickly back on his feet, pointing his sword at Nanoha. "Surrender your prisoner, or face the wrath of JUSTICE RIDER!"

"Um, I surrender?" her mama offered.

He sheathed his sword in his belt. "Haha! You are smart for an evildoer. Come, maiden, I shall rescue you!"

"Karel, did you get her yet?" a female voice asked from the top of the stairs, the owner wearing a sailor fuku with a plastic gold tiera on her short light blue hair. "The castle is ready!"

"It's a fortress, not a castle!" Karel corrected her, lifting his mask for a moment, revealing a freckled face. He sighed and pulled the mask down again, grabbing Vivio's hand. "Come, let's be off! Up, up, and away!"

"Mamaaaaa-~!" Vivio whined as she was dragged upstairs. To her dismay, Nanoha merely waved and told her to have fun.

Vivio whimpered.

"But I wouldn't change anything," Amy was saying. "I love my kids."

"MOM!" came a female cry from upstairs. "Karel is trying to set the dolls on fire again!"

"They're action figures!" her brother shouted back. "And it's just the bad guys!"

"What did I tell you about that?" Amy asked, raising her voice.

There was a pause, and then came a dulled, resigned response, "Not to set fire to the toys because they belong to both of us and you aren't made of money."

"That's better, now play nice!" she commanded.

Nanoha just stared.

Author's notes:
Too much earth manga and anime makes Karel a fun boy. Liera too, to a slightly lesser extent. She'll mostly grow out of it, but him... not so much. :P

If you want to use them, Karel has an affinity for fire-based magics, and will learn stuff like Chrono's Blaze Cannon (haven't decided on his device quite yet). He's almost like a male-version of Amelia from Slayers, but with more of a superhero attitude. Drives Vivio nuts, especially on the times when he actually does do something to save her.

Liera has an affinity for ice/water based magics, and will eventually inherit Durandel (which will be modified a bit for her). Doesn't play the superhero as much, but still has a strong sense of justice like her brother. Although she sometimes thinks he goes a bit too far.

Besides these scenes, they may have a few other cameos, and may play roles in G-Squad, but they'll be starring alongside Vivio in the Next Generation-type fic I'm plotting.

A response to this prompt, because it inspired me almost from the minute I read it. Also, breaking the long string of Vivio angst here and bringing in some Lutecia angst!

“Vivio’s going out with Ein tonight.”

Her cherry Coke lifted to her lips, Lutecia could practically feel Caro and Erio’s gazes as they glanced at her after the pink-haired woman made the announcement. Forcing her throat to stay steady, she shrugged and took a sip. “Good for her,” she said. “Einheart Stratos, right? She’s a good kid. She matches Vi well.”

Caro and Erio exchanged a look. “It’s not going to be a one date thing,” Erio said at last. “Ein’s had a crush on Vivio for years. She’ll be going for her all out, and from what I heard, Vivio isn’t trying to stop her.”

“And your point?” Starting to get annoyed, Lutecia lowered her bottle to the table with a scowl. “I already said Ein’s a decent kid. She’s perhaps a little too mature for my tastes, considering her age, but she’s a good match for Vivio. They’ll keep each other out of trouble.”

She’s a much better match for Vivio than I could ever be.

Erio opened his mouth again, but seeing that Lutecia’s nerves were beginning to become raw, Caro gently touched his arm to soothe him. “We’re sorry, Lu-chan,” she said softly. “We thought Vivio would have told you.”

Lutecia shrugged again, lowering her eyes as she took a mixer and absently swirled it in her drink. “I don’t control every aspect of her life, Caro. She doesn’t have to tell me everything she does, or everything that happens to her.”

Caro hesitated, then nodded. “I see,” she said softly. “So you’re okay with it?”

Lutecia lifted her bottle again, took a long gulp. “It doesn’t matter if I’m okay with it. It’s Vivio’s life, it’s what she wants. And besides, Ein is practically a shadow of her.” Her lips twitched. “The Fate to her Nanoha. Much more than I could ever be.”

Sensing a change in the atmosphere, Erio quietly murmured something to Caro before slipping out of the booth, leaving the pair alone. Lutecia was grateful for it; while she knew the red-haired man suspected her feelings, he would never put her on the spot about it.

Caro on the other hand…

“You knew, didn’t you? That she loves you.”

“Loved me. Of course I knew.” Lutecia smiled slightly. “Vi can hide things, but she’s always had her heart on her sleeve. I knew for years. I chose to do nothing about it.”

“Because of the age difference?”

“That and other things.”

It isn’t a total lie.

Caro’s eyes softened. “But, Lu-chan…”

Lutecia said nothing, her grip on her Coke bottle tightening painfully.

“Weren’t you in love with her?”

For a long moment there was only silence. Finally, Lutecia chuckled, and the smile she gave Caro this time was more than just a little broken.

“Wasn’t I?”

Obviously AU from my ViCia series, assuming that "Never Confessed" didn't happen and after three years, Vivio got tired of waiting.

Well, here's a small drabble...

Looking at Cinque, Dieci wondered just what her shorter sister was planning. "So..." She had a bottle of coke in her hand as she and Cinque walked into a small construction area.

Cinque held up a pipe and smiled at her. "Come on, aren't you curious?"

"Well, yeah, but..." Dieci put the bottle down. "I thought it only worked on metal?"

Shrugging, the short, one-eyed girl could only silently open the bottle and tape the pipe to the top. "Well, we never know until we try, right?"

"Will this even work?" Dieci asked as she pulled out a roll of mentos from her pocket.

"I saw it on TV, so I'm curious." Cinque admitted as she was handed one of the mentos and handed it back to Dieci, who lifted it up and dropped it down the pipe.

As the mentos hit the soda and reacted violently, Cinque snapped her fingers, before her eye widened as not only did the coke shoot straight up but the bottle exploded violently, causing the two of them to get soaked in soda.

Calmly shaking her arms as the soda dripped off of her body, Dieci sighed softly. "Well, that was a fun experiment."

Wiping the soda off of her face, Cinque nodded. "Not doing that again." Oh well, that was kind of fun none the less.

She ammended her thought a moment later as she and Dieci were suddenly soaked by the soda that had gone up and decided to finally obey the law of gravity and come crashing down on top of them.

TECHNICALLY, it's part of something else, but I thought I could post it here without problem.

So I've gone and posted the next part of The Location of Happiness to FF.net, along with One Step Behind. I do think I'll write another fic with an actual Vivio/Yuuno ending, though, if anyone is interested.

All it need is for Karel to form a crush on Vivio, and her misery is complete!

I could see a lot of potential for these two actually. The Nanohaverse clearly need more idealistic crazies now that the Aces are all grown up.

Sensing a change in the atmosphere, Erio quietly murmured something to Caro before slipping out of the booth, leaving the pair alone. Lutecia was grateful for it; while she knew the red-haired man suspected her feelings, he would never put her on the spot about it.

Caro on the other hand…

“You knew, didn’t you? That she loves you.”

“Loved me. Of course I knew.” Lutecia smiled slightly. “Vi can hide things, but she’s always had her heart on her sleeve. I knew for years. I chose to do nothing about it.”

“Because of the age difference?”

“That and other things.”

It isn’t a total lie.

Caro’s eyes softened. “But, Lu-chan…”

Lutecia said nothing, her grip on her Coke bottle tightening painfully.

“Weren’t you in love with her?”

For a long moment there was only silence. Finally, Lutecia chuckled, and the smile she gave Caro this time was more than just a little broken.

“Wasn’t I?”

Obviously AU from my ViCia series, assuming that "Never Confessed" didn't happen and after three years, Vivio got tired of waiting.

Looking at Cinque, Dieci wondered just what her shorter sister was planning. "So..." She had a bottle of coke in her hand as she and Cinque walked into a small construction area.

"Well, yeah, but..." Dieci put the bottle down. "I thought it only worked on metal?"

Shrugging, the short, one-eyed girl could only silently open the bottle and tape the pipe to the top. "Well, we never know until we try, right?"

"Will this even work?" Dieci asked as she pulled out a roll of mentos from her pocket.

"I saw it on TV, so I'm curious." Cinque admitted as she was handed one of the mentos and handed it back to Dieci, who lifted it up and dropped it down the pipe.

As the mentos hit the soda and reacted violently, Cinque snapped her fingers, before her eye widened as not only did the coke shoot straight up but the bottle exploded violently, causing the two of them to get soaked in soda.

Calmly shaking her arms as the soda dripped off of her body, Dieci sighed softly. "Well, that was a fun experiment."

Wiping the soda off of her face, Cinque nodded. "Not doing that again." Oh well, that was kind of fun none the less.

She ammended her thought a moment later as she and Dieci were suddenly soaked by the soda that had gone up and decided to finally obey the law of gravity and come crashing down on top of them.

TECHNICALLY, it's part of something else, but I thought I could post it here without problem.

I've seen this for real, it's pretty awesomely terrifying . Nice work, Nanya.

I could see a lot of potential for these two actually. The Nanohaverse clearly need more idealistic crazies now that the Aces are all grown up.

That's what I was hoping for. I'm just a bit sad it'll be awhile before I get to the series where I'll really develop them. Although I haven't quite decided whether he'll form an open crush on her, or just secretly like her and deny it. Vivio, though, will secretly begin to like him and deny it.

Now, I can't decide whether to pair them off, or leave them as the best friend duo they are. Either way would be interesting to write. So, I'll put it to a vote:

A: Teana realizes she does have feelings for Subaru and was majorly repressing for a few reasons

B: Teana is straight, but still cares for Subaru, who does a Tomoyo "I'm fine with the way things are, and I just want her to be happy" approach.

Angst! Angst! I really like the last line, for some reason. I think it's the ambiguity of it. You don't know if Lutecia is questioning her feelings, ("Did I ever really love her, or did I only idealize what she represented?"), questioning Caro's verb tense ("No, I wasn't in love with her, I am in love with her?"), or just screwing with Caro's head. Good stuff.

He's just suggesting you put your effort into anime fics where it'd be more appreciated.

Personally I'd ignore him. I recognize the name of the reviewer--I believe he's one of the guys who flamed Nanya and RB for the Relationships series.

Now I'm tempted to do a follow-up where Vivio is discussing her budding relationship with Ein, talking to Corona and Lio who have.... reservations about it. Oh man, the temptations.... how I missed this awesome feeling of wanting to write more.

It's just amusing that some one who can't even string two words together thinks they can tell me what to write

But it is true that I've been far more successful in other fandoms. My Setsuna/Feldt stuff in the Gundam 00 section was a huge hit, and even my old Bleach fics are still quite popular today. I've considered focusing more on my 00 stuff, but my desires have been to focus on Nanoha, which is what I'm doing. So you guys will be stuck with me for looooong time

"I thought you liked playing with Karel and Liera?" Nanoha asked, surprised. "You three seemed to get along fairly well at the twin's last birthday party.

"Only because other kids were there to distract them," she replied glumly. Those two were a little too... weird for her. "The boys mainly played by themselves, and Liera isn't as bad as Karel."

The door opened, displaying a happy brunette "Hello, you two! And welcome! Sorry it took so long, I had to get something out of the oven."

"It's no problem," Nanoha told her, entering and removing her shoes.

Vivio sniffed, and immediately began to salivate. "What smells so good?"

Amy chuckled. "It's an apple pie. It's cooling now, but in an hour or two you can have a piece."

Nanoha looked around. "So where are your kids?"

As if on cue, a young boy appeared at the top of the staircase. Vivio's eyes widened, as he was wearing a bug-mask from one of those anime shows, and waving a small plastic sword. The red cape fluttering behind him completed the superhero ensemble.

"Evildoer, how dare you trespass here!" the boy with the short reddish-brown hair declared, pointing the sword at the guests.

"There's one of them," Amy noted, bemused.

Vivio groaned and lowered her face into her palm.

Karel continued his exposition, taking various stances. "Those that go against the forces of good, and kidnap innocent damsels for their villainous schemes, shall face the wrath of... JUSTICE RIDER!"

To the surprise of the two visitors, he leapt off the top of the stair case, landing on the railing and sliding down it like a surfer with socked feet. Halfway down he lost his balance, and then tumbled down the rest of the stairs, to land face first in front of the pair.

Vivio sweat-dropped as her hand dropped from her face, noting her mama looking rather concerned, and beginning to make moves to assist, although Karel's mama just stood there, smiling.

The young boy was quickly back on his feet, pointing his sword at Nanoha. "Surrender your prisoner, or face the wrath of JUSTICE RIDER!"

"Um, I surrender?" her mama offered.

He sheathed his sword in his belt. "Haha! You are smart for an evildoer. Come, maiden, I shall rescue you!"

"Karel, did you get her yet?" a female voice asked from the top of the stairs, the owner wearing a sailor fuku with a plastic gold tiera on her short light blue hair. "The castle is ready!"

"It's a fortress, not a castle!" Karel corrected her, lifting his mask for a moment, revealing a freckled face. He sighed and pulled the mask down again, grabbing Vivio's hand. "Come, let's be off! Up, up, and away!"

"Mamaaaaa-~!" Vivio whined as she was dragged upstairs. To her dismay, Nanoha merely waved and told her to have fun.

Vivio whimpered.

"But I wouldn't change anything," Amy was saying. "I love my kids."

"MOM!" came a female cry from upstairs. "Karel is trying to set the dolls on fire again!"

"They're action figures!" her brother shouted back. "And it's just the bad guys!"

"What did I tell you about that?" Amy asked, raising her voice.

There was a pause, and then came a dulled, resigned response, "Not to set fire to the toys because they belong to both of us and you aren't made of money."

"That's better, now play nice!" she commanded.

Nanoha just stared.

Author's notes:
Too much earth manga and anime makes Karel a fun boy. Liera too, to a slightly lesser extent. She'll mostly grow out of it, but him... not so much. :P

If you want to use them, Karel has an affinity for fire-based magics, and will learn stuff like Chrono's Blaze Cannon (haven't decided on his device quite yet). He's almost like a male-version of Amelia from Slayers, but with more of a superhero attitude. Drives Vivio nuts, especially on the times when he actually does do something to save her.

Liera has an affinity for ice/water based magics, and will eventually inherit Durandel (which will be modified a bit for her). Doesn't play the superhero as much, but still has a strong sense of justice like her brother. Although she sometimes thinks he goes a bit too far.

Besides these scenes, they may have a few other cameos, and may play roles in G-Squad, but they'll be starring alongside Vivio in the Next Generation-type fic I'm plotting.

Okay, now I'm all for Karel/Vivio if only because it would be so utterly perfect. XD I imagine this isn't a stage Karel will ever grow out of, even if Liera calms herself down, and hey, Vivio is mature enough to pull him back!

Favorite line --> "Mom, Karel is trying to set the dolls on fire again!" "They're action figures!" How many times I got into that argument with my sister I have no idea....

Well, its only natural that other fandoms you write for garner more responses. Simply, its not that your writing is disliked in Nanoha, its just that Bleach and Gundam have a far bigger fanbase than Nanoha. That and Setsuna/Feldt is the latest trend in Gundam 00, regardless of most issues people have with it.

It does trim a large chunk off of the potential audience. After all, idiots aside, there are a number of perfectly decent people who come to the Nanoha fic section to read yuri, and when they see something isn't it, simply avoid it rather than complaining about it. (The irony here is, it's the idiots who actually add to the hit count, because they're the ones who read the story and then complain incoherently instead of just avoiding it). Basically, it's a demographics question. Thankfully, since Raiser's writing for the fun of it and isn't getting paid no matter how popular or unpopular a story is, he can just write what he likes without threat of network cancellation.
