FYI, a complete list of my not so seriously meant thoughts and the decission process, that lead to my choice of the two favourite ecchi signatures in the thread:

My comments for each signature and a voting x out of 10:

1. cicido: 7

I like the choice of the pose, character and viewing angle. But it seems as if the colors of the character are a little overdriven. Font and Border is not quite to my taste.

2. Miko Miko: 7

The choice of character and the pose fits the theme of the contest very well (except for the overbustedness very cute and えっち). The finger print like effect on the chara's bottom is a little irritating, it looks like someone with dirty fingers... has... uh touched... well okay thats ecchi I suppose.

3. Marina: 8

The choice of character, pose and viewing are provocative ecchi (doggy style? *g*). It is a little blurry, but the overal blending is nice and fits the issued theme 'heaven'

4. Ice Climbers: 5

The bigbusted (BB) chara's and the red eyes don't let me feel the ecchiness, though technically pose and view angle are very good. I don't like the color transition of the skin tones to the blue (the blue should have been more muted the tone of skin colors - a little more red and yellow)

5. konstargirl: 6

The choice of character and the pose fits the theme of the contest. The BG color is at odds with the character colors imo.

6. CrowKenobi: 5

Another big busted chara... well not directly my preference. Pose and view angle is good. The BG is nice, but the Blending needs improvement (so many blurred lines).

7. mikoo: 7

As much as I don't like the seemingly silicon artificial bust of her (in this position such a form? *g*) I have to credit the animation skills - even though the idea for this signature is recycled.

8. Terrestrial Dream: 7

The ecchiness looks rather innocent which is a great plus. Good choice of characters and pose. The BG though... the fire effect is somwhat dull imo.

9. Shinobou: 6

The pose and character is nice, the view angle is horrible (I don't like cut off heads, since I want to look in the characters eyes/face. The ecchiness is felt... just the BG is a little messy imo.

10. geki~: 5

BB again... oh well, but pose and view angle are nice. The bubble effect looks dirty... like in bukkake dirty... which is a minus (well I must blame myself for my dirty thoughts here *g*)

11. mimi_girl: 5

I can't quite feel the ecchiness in your signature, but the BW scheme is good idea. The BG is a little messy though.

12 Jinto: (formerly known as Jinto Lin lol)

Choice of pose, character and view angle is nice. Though even animated the whole thing looks rather dull. The candle light effect is too weak, so nobody will notice it...

13 bkg9990: 6

There is definitly ecchiness in this signature... but it looks like it was printed on recycled brown paper.

14 Nenkitsune: 5

The drawing style is too sketchy for my taste.

15 Bearshare: 7

Another BB... at least it is not so blatant, thanks to the pose that hides most of the bust. I really like the setup of the BG and how the character blends in.

16 Runa: 6

If it wasn't for the characters eyes, I'ld give 7 points. the hair underlining the text is pixelated, keeps me focusing the pixel steps too much.

17. Kira_Naruto: 7

BB... and even though she is a tsundere, she's looking angry. Which is not my preference of ecchiness, but the overall animation is great.

18. Ichigo-Sora: 6

Violet is not my choice of color, the signatures content however is nice and ecchi.

19. nammerboi: 8

I like the BG, the pose, the setup, the view angle, the character... it could be a little bit more ecchi though.

20. Rhyel: 5

The stange animation... a ecchiness in the eye of the beholder thing I suppose. All the guys standing around the pool ... mass stalking incident? *g*

21. Solace: 6

Even though the choice of characters, pose and view angle is nice, it lacks contrast. And it looks like there is a dirty fog/smog all over the signature.

22. Cyz: 5

BB... though pose and viewing angle are nice. I find the white smirks and the BG are dull.

23. Riker: 6

Good animation skills, though imo the overall impression is more slutty/needy/desperate than ecchi.

24. bigdave: 6

The BG is very detailed, yet the character very sketchy... so its at odds with each other.

25. Utter_iMADNESS: 5

The blending of the single layers/elements needs improvement.

26. darkjester: 7

Choice, pose of character and view angle are good. BG is a little bit loud, but still nice.

27. Avantoe: 6

Looks a little blurred and plain, but is nice.

28. Reith: 3

MBB (M=Mega)... now thats not ecchi but disgusting *g*

29. lazyasian224: 4

I don't see ecchiness there... but that might be because the contrast is horrible, and the blue is too violet for me.

30. Spectacular_Insanity: 4

Mecha kills ecchiness

31. Deathkillz: 5

the character has a cute face but is MBB... the blending and setup of the black BG is well done imo.

32. Shana: 5

character and BG are at odds... the cahracter would benefit from something to lie on (a surface)

33. KasumiGirl: 8

Choice of character, pose, setup and blending to the BG is nice. For my taste the BG would benefit from a little more contrast.

34. Sephi: 6

smooth and sharp areas contrast very much in your signature. The impression of oddness is intesified be the contrasting dark and bright colors. I find the setup is not sound.

I want to thank all the contestors for creating nice signatures.

I agree. I love the feedback on what you liked and didn't like, it helps us all improve as sig makers. If anyone else feels like contributing please feel free, but I'd appreciate it if you kept it under tags so it didn't clutter up the voting.

I'll update the votes in a bit. Just need to do a count and check it against the ones PM'd to me. Votes will be current up to this post, and I'll edit this when I'm finished.

I wanted to add something important to the comments. I did the voting in front of my CRT monitor. The monitor has a high contrast and is able to actually show 32bit true colors, in contrast to many LCDs. When I am looking at the signatures on my notebook at work (uh don't tell my boss ) it looks completely different. So I'ld certainly voted different if I used another display device. Many of the signatures that I evaluated odd because of contrast issues, seem to look a lot nicer on an LCD monitor.

Oh yes, CRT monitors has much better contrast that my LCD in so many ways. I'm glad I swapped out my LCD for a older CRT, but it's still better. I haven't zoomed into the sigs for any contrast comparison, but i'm looking for creativity rather than quality of the image.

A lot of cheaper LCD's have very poor lighting and/or limited pixel contrast. My LCD is one of the better quality ones and your critique was spot on. A lot of people focus on the response time and size, but a good color range makes a big difference in image quality.

My old CRT could heat a room and took up a ton of space (it was a 22 inch beast). I'm so happy to be rid of it, even if it was slightly better at defining color gradients (mostly blacks/greys).

Sort of. I asked if it was possible for the mods to create a poll with more options (before I decided to do it manually). But I think the response applies to this question too.
