Plus since he promised us a more "romantic" tome for LN9 it means we'll have to wait even more hiatus to get to some actual plot!

Somehow I secretly hope he would get rid of the "girl" plot in LN9 and then move on the real plot in LN10 and LN10+ with some harem on the side but not a main issue anymore (kinda like what SAO did)

I hope the Phantom Task get hit really hard and unexpected. I still think there is a secret mercenary group that plan hitting the Phantom Task when they least expect it. Also, I believe there is someone from the past that Chifuyu is afraid of.

Which completely didn't help him much in combat .

He only used the claw one time only , and it doesn't give much advantages over the sword , both drain energy .

And the cannon , if he is right , the cannon drains even more energies , may be he can fire only a few shots before switch back to the sword for lower energy consumption .

The shield , not much info about the shield , but given the fact that it also have One-off attribute , the shield may nullify any kind of energy based attack at the expense of energy , so it is a dead end anyway .

The ability to heal him is quite something i must say , but then can it help him to win in a combat ? Nope , the IS uses its energy to project a field around the pilot to protect him/her , until the Absolute defense kick in = 0 energy , and by that time he is already knocked out .

The concept of the Byakushiki is defeat your opponent as quickly as possible before your HP run out . At this state , the Byakushiki , along with its dense master , can't hope to defeat the newest bad guys by its own , that is why i hope the author can give the unit an even more powerful strike that can cut through enemy weapon ( see the anime ? every single strike is block , means wasting energy for nothing )

well it is true that although byakushiki is a type of one-hit sure kill but in anime and light novel even though an attack from yukihira hit the enemy it is still active.

also all equipment of byakushiki setsura including shield and gun consume energy so it is only good for wasting energy in ichika's hands. (in my opinion)

i think the concept of one-hit sure kill only apply for an IS with low defense like cecilia's blue tears who focus on mobility while the others chara's IS have a decent defense / armor.

I can rant multiple reasoning but ultimately, ByakuShiki needs to be rebuilt from the ground up, most of it's technology is flawed and forced Second Shift is even worse.

It's like you found a bug and let it multiply.

I am starting to think that MAYBE Izuru ditched the novels and just participated in the anime scriptwriting. We are REALLY going either anime original or what Izuru has planned for ep 11 and ep 12.

> 8-Bit suddenly sober up and went all out Shaman King style*
> 8-Bit still high up on drug despite bad DVD sales and contnue with shitty fanservice
> 8-Bit still high up on drug, took more, and faithfully animate V8

* Yes, it's shitty, but much less worse than unfinished manga.

Jesus, the Summer Vacation OVA of all things has better characterization than this season, and that one is based on novel filler.

Makes me wonder, did Izuru just started this series out of a whim (or boredom)?

It's like, he never planned to make this series as good as its contemporaries on the same genres. It doesn't even have consistency when it comes to release schedules.
