I never really quite got the impression that Cecily felt "affection" towards Luke. She may have been infatuated by him or curious about him, but I think she mainly just wanted to get to know more about who he was because he was so secretive and she felt the need to help him in some way. Yeah, there's some obvious sexual tension going on there, but that doesn't necessarily mean "affection." It's more like boy/girl awkwardness.

Same here. I enjoyed this quite a bit and hope for a second season. The ending was certainly left open enough for a continuation.

It may not have been the most profound of stories, but it moved along fairly well, the action was well done, the girls were cute and there were enough emotionally engaging moments (for me at least) to give it some sentimental value.

Even though Cecily is "just Cecily," she does have a part in driving Luke and Lisa's story forward. Her character development wasn't much, but she did learn how to wield Aria in an effective way and formed a sincere bond with her.

I'll definitely watch a second season if it comes along.

Let's just say it looks like the later novels disagree with that.

Well, this is an anime discussion, so I go with what I see in the anime. And what I mainly see in the anime is Luke's reluctant affection for Lisa. There may be some indicators that Luke and Cecily could fall for each other, but, from my perspective, I don't see any clear indication of that happening.

If we get a second season, that's something that certainly could develop.

I have no idea where u can find the novels but you can just read the manga which IMO is way more better than the anime. The reason?
Cecily is a smart, badass, action girl.

You can definitely tell that there's a "thing" between Cecily and Luke. And in the novels......well, let's just say things have progressed.

Was lured into the manga by the art. Delivered nicely on that end with the ecchi and faux-yuri fanservice, but more importantly the plot/characterization actually started to grip/impress me unexpectedly. The arc that just ended with Luke/Lisa's background and Cecily's declaration at the council meeting was fucking epic, actually. The Luke/Cecily doubters on this page make me a bit curious in that sense; seems the manga has made that issue fairly blatantly obvious.

Anyway yeah, I skipped out on this anime back when it was running. Having thus been impressed by the manga, I was just a bit curious as to whether the anime evoked similar levels of gar, moe, and awesome and how it compares overall plotwise: i.e. the manga just finished the Luke's backstory/council meeting arc in chapter 16--about how much farther (presuming it does so) does the anime go past that?

Online readings of novels?

I know this thread is for the anime, which I've seen, but can someone tell me if there's anywhere online to read the light novels? I read the manga chapters currently out, (I think it's at chapter 17 now) but I heard there are 10 volumes of the light novels, so I wanted to try to get further into the story. Any ideas? (Sorry if this question has already been asked)

Thanks!

This announcement is in Portuguese, but for those in Latin America, the Spanish Caribbean and the Iberian Peninsula(Spain, Portugal, Andorra), it's on Crunchyroll.

This turned out to be a pretty good series, and I thought the dub was pretty good, too. There are only three or four fan-service scenes in the entire series, and most of these are in the first few episodes. The script was handled well in the translation, and the voice selection was fitting. It was cool to hear the English voice actor who did Lawrence from Spice & Wolf be a villain
