The one thing I noticed in this chapter that surprised me was that Mio punched Setsuna. It was pretty clear from the way the fight was before that Kuchinashi and Setsuna were only targeting Teruyama and not Mio. I'm sure neither would strike Mio (maybe a Maiden Restriction at most) so that's why I'm a bit surprised to see her punch her friend in Setsuna. Nothing will probably come of this but I wasn't expecting Mio to do anything besides maybe create a wall so that Cruz could escape but with Teruyama having a Stigmata, I guess it didn't need to come to this.

Oh well.

I was a bit surprised by this as well, I fully expected Mio to just hang in the back to block any attacks aimed at Cruz, while Teruyama did the brunt of the fighting. Since he could recover from any damage that Setsuna dealt, and could just burn through anything Kuchinashi threw his way, it just seemed like there was no reason for her to actually physically fight her friends. The only reason I can think of to explain why she actually attacked Setsuna was that she wanted to give Cruz time to completely get away. That and of course Kami just wanting to show off an awesome combo attack.

I’m fully expecting this fight to completely turn around though; Teruyama is absolutely dominating this fight even without Mio on his side. It’s clear that Setsuna and Kuchinashi can’t defeat him as it stands, so someone would have to step in, especially now that it’s been revealed Teruyama has Stigmata. Now while we might expect this individual to be one of the Shitenou, nearly any of the still MIA adversaries could show up, and even with his Stigmata, Teruyama would be at a disadvantage one way or another. Hopefully we’ll get to see some more of this fight next issue.

It’s worth noting that the current arc, City arc, began with Cruz waking up bound to an examination table with Mengroze preparing to make an incision on Cruz’s abdomen.

The impression I get from that scene is that Mengroze isn't about to slice Cruz open, but rather cut something off... But perhaps that's just me.

If Arca had Mengroze perform an operation on Cruz, and she wanted to keep whatever was done to him a secret, it seems very unlikely that she would have left Mengroze alive very long after he had finished.

I fear this will be the last time Cruz sees his sister, and I don't mean that she's going to die (she won't, something will prevent that from happening) but more along the lines of how messed up his brains will be left now Arclight's hand is drilling through his head. I'm afraid Cruz is gonna end up losing his consciousness from the great damages he's gonna suffer, and thus, his last memory of his sister will be Arca being beheaded by Arclight. Eventually he will recover, but by the time he wakes up, what it stands before his eyes might end up turning out his worst nightmare made real.

From the very beggining, since that time Disk told Blade anc co. that they might not come back from alive twice, I thought things would soon make a turn of the worse. The developments from the last couple of pages of this chapter are just the prelude of what's to come. If I were you I would get a box tissue ready just in case, for we are gonna see blood, blood and tears.

With Blade and Eve on their way I have little doubt that Cruz is going to be saved, but not before Arclight finds whatever it is that's inside our hero's head.

Things are really looking down for Team Blade. So far:

1. Solva is out of commission for the time being.
2. Seto has been powered up but she's fighting two opponents who can regenerate endlessly.
3. Disk has been captured.
4. Teruyama and Mio are doing well but there's no way their battle is going to go unnoticed for much longer - and the Shitennou are almost certainly nearby.
5. Cruz is being brainraped by Arclight.

That of course will inevitably lead to Blade vs. Arclight round two, which will probably be just as one-sided as round one. If nothing changes within the next few chapters Team Blade is toast.

...just how much Disk knows. Her reappearance and precense in the room signifies that her knowledge will play an important role in the next few chapters and we know she knows more about Cruz any anyone besides Aruka (and maybe she knows things Aruka doesn't).

Do you suppose that the pill that Blade gave Cruz before going into the City, something that knocked him out could've given Disk the time for Blade and Eve to do something to Cruz to thwart any potential things that Aruka and Arclight wanted to do to Cruz? For example, suppose that Eve used her Doppelganger on Cruz to hide/remove or change something about Cruz that Aruka wanted to open him up for or that Arclight is stabbing his brain for. Would be something amazing if Arclight thought he was doing something but really Disk planned ahead to make sure Cruz would survive such an incident. Maybe it's just wishful thinking...

Oh, and something I forgot to mention in my blog post but I'll just add it here

If we do get flashbacks of Cruz's past or get any information about him, we'll likely see him in men's clothes again which should make the half of us that wanted to see him in male clothing again happy. And for those of us that want to keep him in the school girl uniform some more, well when the story gets back to the present, they'll be happy. It's a win-win for both sides!

Things are wrapping up nicely. So far the developments that will eventually lead to Needless 1.5 have not happened yet, but at the very least we can pretty much assert that Teruyama will fool everyone in Simeon into making them believe he's actually the falsification, leading him to occupy a job as the City main entrance personal gatekeeper. Of course, something has to happen in regards to Setsuna and Kuchinashi since they found out that the real deal is there.

Yeah, we may get male Yamada in a few panels, but you better abandon any hope to see his face again, because we won't. I've already made my mind that we won't ever again see his male face, and we won't because Imai doesn't want his readers to remember Yamada as a boy anymore.


Cover from chapter 75, male Yamada is shown playing videogames with Eve, but we only see him from behind.
Chapter 81, only his torso and lower half are visible to the readers eyes.
Chapter 95, male Yamada in the Black Spot is shown, again backwards.

Something I'll be looking forward to seeing if Cruz's past is revealed is seeing how much of what he remembers about his sister is true or not. We've always seen these images of him remembering how Arca was always kind, and protected him from the dangers of the Black Spot, but her actions and behavior has always contradicted this image he’s had of her. It would be an interesting plot development if it turned out that these memories were something that was fabricated. The technology certainly seems to exist, and as Mengroze was a brain specialist, he would certainly have the skills to pull it off.

What if *cruz* was the one who was viscious and cold pre-op, and Aruka/Arca was originally nice. And post-op, Cruz has a different personality and memories to make sure he doesn't remember...and Arca has been a double agent this whole time, but she tried to kill Cruz because A) what he has can't fall into Simeon's hands and its better to kill him to let it die with him than let them get it, and B) she's actually always hated who here brother *was* and how he treated her.

But during the bloody rain arc, she saw that the person he is now, this 'false' Cruz, is a truly different person, one who has made friends and grown new independence, and so she decided to let go of her grudges and give him an opportunity to go far away and live his new life. And now that he's gone where he shouldn't have, she wants to remove the Mcguffin from him so she wouldn't have to worry about the whole thing.

That's just a crazy scenario that popped into my head, but I suppose possible with this series.

From that very instant, Arclight already began to lose confidence in Arca. And also, when Yamada asked her about what she did in Black Market, I'm sure Arclight heard that too, because he really was there from the very beggining. In other words, Arca's treachery has been uncovered, she's defecting from Simeon asap once Eve or someone reattaches her head and heals her wounds.

Yep, damage in the brains is pretty much irreversible. I remember the time when Eve broke Arclight's head to pieces. Though even the skull was shattered, his brains came out of it unscathed.

Blade who lost a portion of his brain knows better than anyone how of much great importance is that organ. It's the most important part of the body, it prevented Eve from dying forever among many things.

I'm sorry to say this, but this may have been the last time we see Yamada as we've always known him.
